We always have a good time in Hermanus.
The owner and his wife are very very friendly and helpful. The guest house is a 2 minute drive from Mediclinic, which is a big bonus. Furthermore, everything you are looking for, restaurants and shopping centers, are very close for self-catering items. Away from heavy traffic. Would highly recommend The Gables.

Loved the space, Wi-Fi, and close enough to walk to the waterfront and restaurants in town.
We had a pleasant stay with a friendly host couple. Everything was clean and well-organized. Each room had its own private porch with sunbeds next to a nice, clean pool. It is a little bit too far from the city centre to walk, so you need a car to get around.

I loved the room, but I must say I was disappointed, for the price, that there wasn't even a continental breakfast or even a complimentary bottle of water or some biscuits in the room. It lacked any personal, warm reception. But the bed was the best I've slept in, and the garden lovely. The host was very kind too. I appreciate their patience in waiting for my later arrival.
The cleanliness is really an awesome plus. We were not affected by loadshedding as the place was equipped with solar power! We could watch the match in the comfort of our room, whilst braaiing and relaxing.
There are nice hiking trails in the area. The Hoy-koppie has the most beautiful view over the whole of Hermanus. Will definitely visit there again.

Would recommend portable braai facilities for each area - using the build braai area was very awkward as there were other guests in the unit next to braai area.

Although we arrived a little late, we were warmly received. The Gables is beautiful, neat and with a good layout. We will definitely visit again and definitely recommend to anyone.
When booking we asked for breakfast to be included, on arrival we were told it was never included. The Gables had no sympathy for us and were only told if we wanted breakfast we would have to pay unfortunately, although we thought the amount we paid was included. Customer service in my eyes therefore not so good.
Now that was a really nice visit. Not too far out of the city, so we weren't tired from the trip there. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay, the swimming and braai facilities as well as the walking routes along the sea and the beautiful drive through the Hemel-en-Aarde Valley.
Beautiful guesthouse. Owners were very friendly, helpful and hospitable. Room very neat, modern and well equipped, 5-star quality. Very safe and safe parking. Highly recommendable!
