The Cottage is peaceful and tranquil, a few minutes walk from the beautiful Karoo countryside, yet only a 10-minute walk from the shops and restaurants in Prince Albert. On arrival, you will be welcomed by your host, Riaan, who speaks English and Afrikaans.
The cottage have an open-plan living area and kitchen. There is also an indoor fireplace with a starter pack of wood provided, an invertor as well as free WiFi.
The bedroom has air conditioning and a mosquito net to protect you from some flying visitors if they do make an appearance. There is also an electric blanket to keep the cold Karoo nights at bay. The bedroom has an extra-length king-sized bed. The bathroom has a large shower and soft fluffy towels are provided. The more adventurous have the option of a refreshing outside shower, under the stars, which is great for those hot summer evenings.

Beautiful apartment and everything is perfect.
Loved location and being able to walk to town. Had a lekker braai outside and cosy indoor fireplace. Comfortable and all we need.
The accommodation is absolutely beautiful and offers everything you could possibly need, right down to a Nespresso machine! Riaan is a warm host and made sure that we were satisfied with everything. We will easily visit again!

Solar power, fireplace and electric blankets helped a lot in the cold Prince Albert. Our pets enjoyed it just as much and comfortable accommodations were made for them as well.
The accommodation is beautifully furnished. The king-size bed, electric blanket and luxurious cotton linen ensured a wonderful night's rest. We walked far on the farm roads out and also in the town. Our dog was in seventh heaven with the large yard. We could walk around the smallholding with her.
The decor was exceptional and the cottage comfortable and beautifully furnished. The mosquito net was not only beautiful but also kept the mosquitoes away very effectively.
Beds were comfortable, air-con was great and perfect for an overnight stopover.
No attention to detail. Little things like soap and shampoo are missing. No wood for the fire. Not well equipped for self-catering. Grills were dirty and boarded up.
We were kindly received and immediately felt at home. Owners regularly made sure we were comfortable and happy. Beautiful house and enough space. Everything one needs plus more. We would love to visit again.
The cottage is very comfortable and completely met our expectations. Unfortunately, the nearby Bush Bar is a disturbance if you are tired or want silence.
We stayed here for a few days whilst exploring Prince Albert and surrounds. What an amazing place to stay!! The hosts were extremely friendly and helpful. Everything was 100% neat and in place from the firewood to the complimentary milk and butter in the fridge. We really enjoyed the evenings around the camp fire. The cottage is well equipped and totally private. During late afternoons we also enjoyed watching the birds nesting over the dam close by. We will certainly be back when we are in the area again.
We returned in spring after our last stay in winter and our stay was just as good as the last. The birdlife, pond and plants create a vibrant atmosphere surrounding the accommodation,especially during spring. Olive Thrush Cottage has definitely become our favourite place to stay in Prince Albert.
The hosts are wonderful, the place is beautiful with everything we needed and more. Fresh coffee on arrival and enough wood for the fireplace and the heater was on. Location is perfect.
The Olive Thrush Cottage was comfortable. The fireplace and gas heater was perfect for the cold of July. Thoughtful touches here and there made us feel welcome. Very spacious and clean feel to the cottage and the garden bird life was incredible. We will return in spring.

Great night's rest and we were able to explore the town and surroundings well from The Olive Thrush Cottage.
We thoroughly enjoyed the Olive Thrush Cottage. It's a beautiful little paradise with accommodation that is very comfortable, cosy and spotlessly clean and fresh. The beautiful big mosquito net over the huge bed is a must and was most appreciated, as there were lots of mozzies. Our doggies had safe and sufficient space to run and it was a wonderful rejuvenation after a long journey! Thank you!
We could not have asked for a better place to enjoy a quiet weekend away. Away from the hub bub of the Prince Albert main street, the Olive Thrush is a private and peaceful cottage beautifully equipped for a self-catering stay. The indoor fireplace and electric blanket were welcome additions on a cold July evening while the outdoor fireplace and shower equipped with hot water were just as appreciated! Our hosts were more than welcoming and treated our daughter to her very own orange harvest from their personal orchard. A gem of a place that we will go back to in a heartbeat.

Extreme heat was tamed by the air conditioner and pool that owners shared with our kids.
The cottage is beautifully decorated inside and out, the large bed comfortable. Fresh eggs and milk in the fridge and various coffees and teas to choose from. Bathroom had lovely toiletries. Best of all were the sounds of turkeys, chickens and birds when you exit to the courtyard.
Very peaceful location. The cottage was excellently equipped. It is nice to socialise around the dam and sit around the fire in the evenings. Paul and Marguerite ensured a friendly reception. If we find ourselves in Prince Albert again, we will definitely stay at The Olive Thrush Cottage again.
The cottage is beautiful and large enough for 2 adults and 2 small children. We were just two. The bed was the piéce de resistance being 2 m²! Pure luxury plus mosquito nets. It was divine. Very gracious hosts who are helpful and friendly. 100% all round. We cannot speak highly enough of the place - it is the perfect getaway. We would go back right now if only we could. Would love to return some day.
Great place for a family of 4, luxurious bedding with coffee, sugar, tea, fresh milk and even freshly baked rusks! Wood was also provided and the childrean enjoyed rowing on the dam.
