During the winter months, the beds are made up with winter bed linen and electric blankets, ensuring that your visit to Bloemfontein in the winter will be warm and cosy. French doors lead onto the garden.
Guests will experience total comfort and a good night’s rest, sleeping on Cloud 9 mattresses, with our 100% cotton bed sheets and angora blankets. We offer a choice of duck down and or synthetic pillows. All our beds and pillows are protected by hygienic linen protectors, which gives peace of mind to our discerning guests.
Guests can relax, watch television, listen to music or socialize, in any of the 3 entertainment areas. The swimming pool is an ideal place to relax during the warm summer months, enjoying a cool drink. The well-maintained garden offers a peaceful retreat for the weary traveler or businessman. We have wine wagons available to our guests and it can be booked on arrival. The outside verandah is a designated smoking area.
A guest’s privacy is extremely important to us and we make it our highest priority. The overall safety of our guests, as well as the security of their belongings, are also extremely important to us. We offer secure parking and the guest house has burglar proofing, and security gates. We do not accept any guests “off the street", without a prior booking.

12 guests' feedbackThe place guides you into a different era. The place is glamoured with gorgeous antique tea sets, princess Anne furniture and porcelain dolls. The paintings on the walls make you feel like a member of the royal household. We never wanted to leave. It's a place of exquisite beauty and homeliness.
The cost should have included breakfast. One morning my husband asked the hostess for an omelette and she said that the breakfast was an English breakfast which did not include omelettes (since an omelette is of French origin). We felt that this was unnecessary and that the kitchen could provide an omelette. In general the house was very full and the fact that our bathroom did not have a shower was a big minus. There is another bathroom (which has a shower) offered to us, but to get there, one has to walk through the entire guest house (including a living room) to take a shower. Needless to say, my husband didn't take advantage of it.
Very bad experience. I will not recommend The Summer Place to anyone and will never ever stay over there again. R120.00 for breakfast which was two eggs, two pieces of bacon and a small sausage, I think that's ridiculous.
After a long trip I had to wait 15 minutes in front of the gate opened before some opened up. Only one towel in bathroom (we were two people). No hair dryer for my wife. No bath, only a shower. Just feel that it's too expensive for what we got. Looked forward to staying here (given the use of the word "Boutique" in the name, the price per night, and the fact that we had a long trip from the Cape). Unfortunately disappointed and will not stay here again.
We received excellent service. We felt so at home and would come back anytime. You will definitely see us again.
The hostess must always be there for her guests through good and bad times. She should not shy away and leave her staff to deal with the problem. Furthermore, it was very nice to be able to stay there.
Value for money category needs to be addressed. The price was suitable if breakfast was included.
TV programmes have room for improvement.
Amenities not as advertised on Internet.
Had a nice stay and will stay there again in the future when my family and I are in Bloemfontein. Really very pleasant.
Very cute place. Too many trinkets and trinkets make it easy to knock something over. Coffee tapestry is smooth and hot mugs and kettle slide off easily. Still very nice stay.
Value for money and friendly people.
