Rod's Hiking Trail starts 50 m from the house and leads through the heart of the Cape Floral Kingdom, home to one of the planet's most complex biodiversities and a World Heritage Site, to the Harold Porter Botanical Gardens with various indigenous plants and activities.
The guest house is within close proximity to the village centre and a main beach, where Oystercatchers and many other sea birds can be seen.
Betty's Bay and the surrounding area offer a number of great activities and attractions. It is a hiker's paradise with a host of marine life, birdlife, and plant species, attracting nature lovers. Many bike trails are found in the area. Wine estates, markets, farm stalls, golf courses, nature reserves, unspoiled beaches, zip-line and rafting adventures, and The African Penguin Colony are some of the local attractions.

8 guests' feedbackWe had a great stay! The Trailhouse is very central and close to everything. The sea view from the bed was heavenly.
Perfect stay, lovely place, good people.
Friendly welcome, and easy to find. Everything was as a guesthouse should be: clean, in place, and neat. The host provided space in the fridge and cupboard. However, the place was not as I expected. The rooms are close to each other and the doors are thin, lacking privacy. I did not expect a communal dining room and fridge, or no kitchen access or food preparation or cooking facilities.
We had a very nice stay. Betty's Bay is beautiful. Everything was perfect. The view, the mountain, just too beautiful. The silence did us good this weekend. And then it started raining on Saturday night. Perfect! All the studio apartment lacks is an iron.
Our friends from the Paarl also spent the night there and we had a great time outside at the braai area where they slept. My 93-year-old father-in-law was also with us and in the evenings when we made a fire in the fireplace, he really enjoyed it and the view of the beautiful mountains on one side and the sea view on the other. Nearby beaches are beautiful and the area is very peaceful and safe. Would recommend the places anytime and book there again.
If you want to get away from the hustle and bustle of your daily life, The Trailhouse is the place to go to. Beautiful unit, very tranquil, deck with an amazing view. We will definitely go regularly. Loved it!
