Not all the items were available on the menu, but food is delicious and water for bath and shower is just a problem with load shedding otherwise no complaints
Dinner was good, rooms old but well maintained. Don't be in too much of a hurry in the morning, it's a late night spot. Rooms not soundproof and water ran out during the night.
Very relaxed and rural feel.
We enjoyed the stay. Found the staff friendly and enjoyed the cosy feel of the hotel. Will definitely come back.
Friendly service. Room 10 did not have a fan or air-con. No insect spray. Mosquitoes if you open the windows for cool air. View to the mountain spoiled as building and garden refuse is dumped in front of the vegetable dome. This took away from the lovely sunset and sunrises. The open patch behind the rooms needs to be tidied up. No undercover parking for guests. Breakfasts were good.
Very disappointed in our stay. Bathroom has no outside window. Rotten drain smell. 2nd bedroom has no wardrobes or mirror. Window opens right onto busy sidewalk, no privacy if you want to open the window for fresh air. Linens were stained, old and torn. Couldn't even get 4 mugs that look the same. Had to ask for bins to be emptied from the rooms. If it wasn't for the fact that we had tickets for the Music Festival, and that there was basically no accommodation available, I don't think we would have stayed here.
I was received kindly, room and bathroom are reasonable. Again the DStv crashed, and the WiFi doesn't work. The room could do with renovation. Breakfast included and delicious.
Rooms have single walls. You can literally hear the people in the room next to you snoring! No backup for loadshedding. There are winter sheets on the bed (starting March) and no fan. We shared our bed with a friend, he didn't survive because his body was lying next to my husband's pillow. So my husband and I came back with bite marks (spider). The water pressure is very bad and if there is loadshedding, there is no water. The toilet then made a terrible noise. I understand that the wind can blow nicely but the corrugated iron roof sounded like it was blowing off. So yes, between the people next to us, the wind blowing down the sink, the water pipes roaring (full of air) and the heat, we slept very little. We love Wakkerstroom but will never sleep in the hotel again.
Unfortunately only spent 1 night here, but was pleasantly surprised by the comfy rooms and fun and quaint character of the Wakkerstroom Hotel and our rooms. Had a really entertaining and fun time next door at the 1818 bar. Manager Nkosi was very friendly and attentive. Showers could do with more water pressure, but will definitely return when next in Wakkerstroom.

Baie skoon en netjies. Heerlike kos en vriendelike personeel.
Was lucky to get Lucky as our bird guide for a special tour and spotting through Kristi (Wakkerstroom Birding). Hot water faucet can get attention.
Friendly people, delicious food and a very nice atmosphere.
Room service was poor. No coffee in the room. No TV because the DSTV bill was not paid. At least everything was sorted out later after I called the website to complain about the facilities and service.
