If you like a busy and 'lots to do' environment Thirsty Falls is not for you. Here you can switch off in silence and appreciate the natural beauty and surroundings. The hiking trail is easy and clean. If you are looking for a place where you can switch off and rest, then Thirsty Falls is just the place for you. The residential units are very clean and well furnished.

From the first moment we made our reservation at Thirsty Falls we were amazed by the fantastic service we received. Less than 5 minutes after we inquired about availability we received a reply from Jenny. Less than 12 hours after we made the payment, we received a personal booking confirmation from Thirsty Falls itself. Together with the booking confirmation, we received a detailed list of everything we need to take with us to make our time there as comfortable as possible as well as a good description and a road map how to get there. On the day we checked in, we were warmly received and Jenny and her husband treated us very kindly every day we were there and asked if we were ok. They even gave suggestions on where to go and which restaurants had good food on the days we went out to explore Magaliesburg and Rustenburg. There was also a detailed list of all the tourist places in the area inside the cottage where we stayed, so we had no trouble with entertainment at all. The place was very neat and clean. Every morning someone came to clean our braai. And there was more than enough cutlery for 2 people. The absolute silence they maintained even though there was a cottage booked quite close to us was an absolute bonus. The scenery around the house was the cherry on the cake. We have nothing but good things to say about Thristy Falls or the peaceful owners. Would definitely recommend them anytime to anyone going to Rustenburg for a weekend or getaway holiday.

We were looking for a peaceful weekend getaway which was a short and easy drive from home (Randburg), and Thirsty Falls did not disappoint. We received a friendly welcome from Alan on arrival, and he and Jenny were very helpful and friendly throughout our stay, making sure we had everything we needed, while not being obtrusive, even substituting the unit we had originally booked with a similar one that offered a better view, simply because it had not been booked. We will certainly visit Thirsty Falls again in the near future, it is an ideal place to just go and soak up the tranquility and natural beauty of the Magaliesberg.

The only criticism we have is the condition of the last kilometer or two of the access road. Origins is very good value for money. If you are looking for rest, peace and privacy this is the place to go. No stacked units. You know there are other people but hardly see them. Residential units are top notch with everything you need, neat, clean, quality beds, a spa bath to wash away all the stress from your body. Breathtaking view of the Maggallesberg. If you have to drive around now, you are close enough to several attractions.

It was great to escape the city, the "rat race" (and our rambunctious toddlers) for a quick getaway in nature. The chalets are spacious with everything you need, with lots of privacy and our unit had a spa bath. (We forgot a few items at home, but luckily Jenny came to our rescue when we mentioned them.) My life partner and I went to Thirsty Falls to celebrate my birthday. We also needed a getaway and wanted to rest and experience natural beauty. Thirsty Falls was perfect for this purpose. We stayed in Geranium House. It was neat and had everything we needed to make self-catering as easy as possible. It was beautiful and peaceful and I recommend it to all couples in need of a blissful, relaxing getaway.
This little place is a piece of miracle so straight from the Father's hand! It's a peaceful environment with the most amazing view. The place is beautiful! All of it is beautiful! Enjoy nature and go for a walk in the mountain and allow the tranquility to "Connect" again with what is important in life!

Alan and Jenny are excellent hosts. What a lovely environment! One is surrounded by rough vegetation and then of course there is the beautiful Magaliesberg - it would have been perfect if it wasn't for the rather busy R24 that one can hear quite clearly and see (but it does not bother). It's the perfect place to escape from the city's hustle and bustle. The cottage (we were in Geranium) was very neat and comfortable. The gravel road is quite bad in places, but if you take it slow it shouldn't be a problem. Our car has a very low ground clearance and we made it.
The quietness was beautiful. The views were a bit restricted by the trees. The birds were plentiful with quite a chorus in the mornings.

A relaxing weekend in the bushveld at the foot of the Magaliesburg mountains. The fireplace is the best place to relax in winter. The kitchen is fully equipped with everything you need. The bedroom was clean and the bed was firm and comfortable. The owners were good company, but they never invade your privacy.
Rosemary Cottage is convenient, clean and well equipped. We had a view of the mountain and the wonderful sunsets and enjoyed the hike up the mountain. The fireplace and spa bath were bonuses! It is said that rosemary helps to restore a positive outlook, get rids of stress and refreshes and rejuvenates. Well, Rosemary Cottage did just that!

It was a lovely weekend. The tranquillity overshadows everything and the birding is incredible. Each unit has so much privacy, you don't even know about the other people. Jenny is wonderfully hospitable and helpful.

Very friendly and helpful hostess. She makes you feel at home and goes out of her way to keep the surroundings clean and neat. It is a very peaceful place where one can really rest out.
There is 3 km of very bad mountain road and its definitely not accessible by normal car - you need a SUV or Bakkie that is high off the ground. Please tell that to future customers. There is no sound to be heard from traffic or anything else. My husband was not happy with the deadly silence. We did not stay at all. We left half an hour after arrival. The road will not be accessible in the dark when you want to leave early to go to Pilansberg or any other place that you want to visit.
This little place was very clean and equipped with everything we needed. Bedlamps would have bee nice. Friendly, helpful host. Got some good rest and the peace and quiet soothed the soul. Will book this place again, anytime.
Words cannot describe how beautiful it is here. The owners are both incredibly hospitable and friendly. This is definitely the place for you if you just need a quiet weekend away with a new book. The house is very neat and has an incredibly beautiful view of nature.

Even though there are a few units on the farm, we couldn't see any of them from Protea. It really gives the place a lovely secluded feel. Had a really nice stay and rested.
Beautiful view, excellent facility, escpecially the Spa bath. Although all facilities were occupied we did not hear or see anyone. Thank you Jenny for the lovely picnic platter, it was delicious and highly recommended. We will definitely visit again.

Lovely, peaceful weekend in beautiful surroundings. The small pool is great for younger children. The road is quite bad and you don't want to drive back and forth with an ordinary car to see sights outside the farm or to go out to eat. Suggest guests come with a 4x4.
