Thornsprings is situated less than 30 km from Middelburg in the Eastern Cape and offers quality accommodation for families and friends. The farmhouse was built with beautifully cut, tawny sandstone in the style of Herbert Baker. Its thick walls and high ceilings render the rooms cool in scorching summer days and warm when cold nights set in.

We had an amazing time at Thornsprings. The house has everything one could need. It's quiet and peaceful and just good for the soul. We will definitely stop here again.
Thornsprings is a luxurious and stylish getaway in the Eastern Cape. They can accommodate large groups and is ideal for family getaways. The showers, linen and kitchen deserve special mention as features of the property that make it worth a visit.
Was lovely and relaxed.
The adults and children really enjoyed the break. The staff were friendly and helpful and tidied up the house daily. We could just sit back and have a good time with the family and children. What was nice is that we could see the children playing while we sat on the porch. It really was a wonderful weekend.
Thornsprings is truly a wonderful break away from the city. The perfect place to enjoy outdoor cooking, walks, long sleeps and incredible sunsets. The house and host and staff = 5 star quality. We will definitely be back.
