The stay was very comfortable. The location was beautiful. The facilities were clean.
The stay was good, nice touch for the wood, firelighters and matches. . Unfortunately, wifi and dstv was not working, and the toilet was leaking water. The keys had to be collected at a different company than was mentioned on the description, needed to be collected at Accommodations Dullstroom and not Reservations Dullstroom.
Only stayed for the night, on the way to Limpopo. Perfectly fine for my needs. Beautiful garden.
Very neat, affordable and safe accommodation, centrally located in Dullstroom.
The day we arrived, the office apparently closed early and no one could help us with our key to check in. We had to contact the accommodation several times to get a reply. When we arrived in the unit, there were no instructions regarding the WiFi, and we had to contact them again. They responded after about two hours. The WiFi signal was so weak, we couldn't use it. They also advertised that there was a TV with DSTV, but it didn't work. Quite disappointing. There were matches, fire lighters, and wood, which was a nice touch. We also appreciated the electric blankets and oil heater as it was really cold when we visited.
Nice place to stay, just a shame toilet leaks and shower doors are broken in 2nd bathroom.
Our stay was average. The unit really needs an upgrade. The 1 shower didn't work, the shower that does work is floor so smooth you slide easily. The cutting board in the kitchen is so dirty - it was creepy how old it is. The front door gate is having trouble closing. The bedrooms are spacious and the bedding was nice and clean. No WiFi or DStv working as advertised.
Definitely not again. TV didn't work. Bathroom not up to standard at all. Information has not been updated. Hassle to get keys. Definitely better alternatives for the cost per night!
During our stay, the advertised Wi-Fi was not working. After reaching out to the agent, we were given an excuse that the entire town was without service. However, as someone with an IT background, I knew this wasn't true as I had conducted tests on the connection. The agent continued to provide excuses, and while he offered a complimentary night, it did not resolve our issues. We had planned to watch the rugby at home, but his suggestion to go to a restaurant was not feasible as we had very young children with us. Unfortunately, we received no further assistance. Additionally, we did not have keys to the main bedroom door leading outside. Despite messaging the manager, who was supposedly available throughout our stay, we received no response, leaving us unable to access that door. The electricity kept tripping after using the shower and kettle. On Saturday morning, we were unable to go out as workers were fixing the geyser, which we had to allow as we otherwise had no hot water. Overall, the experience did not meet expectations, and I would not recommend this place unless they address these issues and deliver on what is advertised.
Some serious maintenance needs to be done in the bathrooms, en-suite bathrooms - shower doors do not close properly. Not that clean, toilet leaking, wax pan seal ring needs replacing as it looks just terrible, shower head needs replacing, twin basin "cabinet" sagging and pulling away from wall. Main bathroom - painting to be done in bathroom, shower heads need replacement. Only one electricity point in bedrooms, they provided extensions but some did not work. It was actually fixed with insulation tape, who does that? Could not use electric blanket or bedside lamp without extension. Was given a WiFi password but WiFi does not connect to the internet. Braai area also needs some maintenance as the walls show some water leaking that has not yet been fixed. Given a remote to open and close entrance gate, but gate motor does not work, confirmed by the cleaning lady.
If the WiFi had worked, the kids would have been sorted out. I'm still waiting for feedback on the WiFi password. And if only there were keys for all the doors, like the one bedroom that goes outside. The place is not recommended for grandparents because there are no handrails at the steps.
Disappointed in unity. Furniture very old and broken.
Had a nice stay, accommodation was clean and tidy, but the unit's door had difficulty opening and closing. The car gate was not locked during the night and had to be opened by hand. The rooms inside are very dark and I could not open the curtains as there are no lace curtains.
We had to struggle for 2 hours on Friday 9th Feb to get our keys to our accommodation as the accommodation did not update our booking. A manager at the Mayfly restaurant in Dullstroom happily helped us. The contact number for the accommodation is also unavailable.
The host/owner was not helpful or friendly. The gate motor was not working, and there was no patio/outdoor furniture to enjoy the garden. I struggled to close the security gate and kitchen door. Many small maintenance issues need to be addressed, which would make a stay far more enjoyable. I think the housekeeper was a breath of fresh air and tried to do what she could. I won't recommend this place to anyone.
The front gate has to be pushed open and closed by hand although there is an electric gate motor, so the place is by no means safe. The front door of the unit can be opened from the outside even if the door is locked. The garden is neglected. The towels are full of stains. The bedding is not all cleanly covered. The extra blanket in the closet is full of stains and stinks. The TV doesn't work. The electric blanket does not work. Both bedside lamps are not working. The one hot plate remains switched on permanently. There is almost no water coming out of the sink in the bathroom faucet. One shower door is broken. I complained and then one of the bedside lamps was fixed. I am bitterly disappointed, thanks to misrepresentations I wasted my money and did not enjoy my weekend.
We had a wonderful stay at Treelands, it is nice and spacious and the veranda is nice to hang out with as a family. The beds sleep wonderfully and the indoor braai is also convenient. We only had a problem with the linen in the one bedroom with the single beds. There were dead bugs and insects everywhere that had made themselves at home under the sheets. It looks like the beds have not been used for a long time and that could be the reason for that. The double beds were no problem. Then the electric car gate didn't work and we felt unsafe if we came in late in the evening and had to open the gate by hand first. We had a great time in Dullstroom.
We really enjoyed our visit to Treelands, as well as the larger Dullstroom. Thanks for the electric blankets. Treelands was picture perfect after the snow. Truly an experience.
Overall we would be able to recommend the place, but feel that the owner can improve, e.g. hot water is not available when there is loadshedding, the mirror light does not work, there is not a hairdryer as advertised, there is not a full shower, etc. We really like the braai area with all the wood and firelighters that are put out.
When we arrived it was difficult to get hold of the owners. Think you should rather include the facility manager's contact details. We struggled to open the front door on arrival and had to use the back door to enter the house. There was no water when there was loadshedding. Nobody informed us of this. There were also no alternative lights which could be used during loadshedding. There was also no TV in the dining room. The manager said we must take this up with the owners.
Unit 4 just meets all the minum requirements, frugality at its best! Living room sofa cover peeling off badly. No carpet or loose rugs in living room. Braai area on porch has no chairs or table to use. Bathroom faucets marked as cold give hot water and hot water faucets do not come out. Bathroom without cold water, so you just have to brush your teeth and rinse your mouth with warm water. Hot water in the shower at least, so you don't burn, since you can't add cold water. Shower has shower curtain. Bathroom and bedding nice and clean, and enough blankets. Only Ricoffy and Cremora sachets, not a drop of fresh or complimentary cartons of milk. Toilet paper then sandpaper.
Left my wife's knee pad, we are still waiting for feedback.
Besides no contact whatsoever from management, the unit was dark, towels in shocking condition and table top dangerously loose!
The place is incredibly cold. The heater's highest setting has been removed so that one cannot use it. The house was also not very clean for me when we got there. The kitchen part especially.
The stay was not pleasant.
The braai is clogged and smoke hangs in the room when you light a fire. Biggest problem is there is no roof to park under and the tree outside spills horribly, a sticky glue that has covered my entire vehicle. I am very angry about it.
What a wonderful time in Clarens. The garden is so beautiful and we spent hours sitting on the nice porch. Little fire lit in the evening. Deliciously romantic. Will definitely visit there again.
Very nice, comfortable place.
It was such a lovely place to spend the night, next time we will definitely make a long weekend of it.
Stayed overnight on our way from Kruger Park to the Johannesburg airport. Appreciated the fireplace as it was freezing cold in Dullstroom. Everything very comfortable and clean.
Maybe you can mark the keys. Getting forest keys and not knowing what locks what opens was quite an annoyance. Car gate remote did not work. The one TV that was there had DStv not working either.
Very clean, nice big yard the one we stayed in. Just Eskom stuffed it a bit. Thanks for the globe.
Please in future just let guests know about problems with bookings a day or 2 before arrival and not on the day of arrival.
Be quiet and peaceful.
Needs outdoor furniture.
The place was very cute. Liesl kept us informed about everything and even brought our key while we were walking around.
I would definitely not recommend Treelands Abbey, not if you want tranquility. We stayed in number 7 and number 6 was against us. You could hear every word your neighbors were talking about. You hear every step on the planks and stairs from the room above us. It's a doof-doof all the time until late at night. Also, our neighbors had 3 huge dogs that were up and down the stairs all the time and also barked. There was also no fireplace in the unit as advertised. Also we booked in Treelands Estate and we ended up in Treelands Abbey.
Everything was neat and clean. Well appointed kitchen with all necessary equipment, especially the dishwasher is a bonus. Rooms neat. Bathrooms a bit old, but were still clean. Braaikamer was very comfortable and nice to hang out in, especially because the cold, wet weather outside.
We stayed in Treelands Estate twice and found it very cold. The firewood provided was green and would not burn. Apart from that the unit was very comfortable. However, the door handle on the inside of the bathroom is broken off and if you close the bathroom door you are locked in.
On arrival at Treelands Estate we realize that the unit we have been placed in is not the unit we booked on the website. When we inquired about this, we were informed that they had put us in unit 3 instead because the television in unit 4 was out of order. There were already other people in unit 4 at this stage. We then indicated that unit 3 did not have all the facilities as we had discussed – unit three is smaller and does not have a fireplace, no outside barbecue area, no oven, and the fridge was not at all suitable for a week's necessities. Unit 3 does have a braai built into the kitchen area, but because it is not purpose-built, it cannot double as a fireplace (or similar). It did not heat up the unit at all, nor did it create the same atmosphere as a fireplace. We then asked to please move the next day to the unit we had booked (unit 4). It was agreed and arranged that we would take unit 3's key back to the booking office and receive unit 4's key in return. As discussed we are going to exchange the keys for the units so we can move to unit 4. We had been in town all morning and returned to Treelands around 2.30pm. On arrival we see that unit 4 has not been cleaned, the kitchen is full of dirty dishes and the bed has not been made cleanly. We then contact the managers and tell them what we see, according to her the cleaners let us know that everything is fine and clean. But she let it be known that she was on her way to come and see. When she arrived, she said that the cleaners had cleaned the wrong unit. She apologized and asked if we wanted to spend that evening in unit 5 and move to unit 4 the next day; alternatively she will drive to pick up the cleaner (plus or minus an hour and a half waiting time). After a discussion we request her to have unit 4 cleaned so we can go into it as booked, we are willing to wait. So the unit was then serviced and we moved all our stuff to unit 4. Shortly after settling down in unit 4 we realized that we didn't have WiFi and let the managers know who then let us know that the ISP said everything was fine and ask that we take the signal booster out of unit 3 and plug it into unit 4 to see if that solves the problem. So made, but still no WiFi signal available. Early in the morning we let the managers know that we still don't have WiFi. She lets us know that the handyman will stop by to bring us a working television, he will then simply look at the WiFi. Some time later the handyman comes to exchange the television with a working one (which was then done) and he checks the WiFi signal, with no luck he then says he will let the managers know that it is not working . The day goes by with no news or feedback about the WiFi, we just watch television in the evening and decide we will let the managers know the WiFi is still not working. Ask again about the WiFi only to hear that the owner is apparently at Treelands Estate from the day before and says that the WiFi is working. We then let you know that we still have no WiFi signal in unit 4. The managers let us know when she was on her way to come and see. When she arrived she pretended to be in unit 3 and had WiFi. We then walked over to unit 3 to talk to her, and although she was right and that there was signal in unit 3, there is still no signal in unit 4. We then showed her again that we were getting no signal. The manager then openly scolded her for the situation and our insistence that we did not signal. She then mentioned that she would take the signal booster and have it tested. This interaction was our last with the managers (no further calls, messages or personal interaction). We went home on Saturday morning (as per our booking) without the matter being settled. We also received no communication from the owner (who was in person at the Estate until after we left) and no proper apology for all the chaos surrounding our booking. Our experience at Treelands Estate really leaves a lot to be desired, and while we admit that it is not the most expensive accommodation in Dullstroom, it is by no means the cheapest. We are thoroughly disappointed in the experience we have saved and looked forward to for months. Besides all of the above, the following was also wrong/frustrating: Unit 3: Microwave oven broken. Two plate stove - incredibly slow to heat up. Only two of all the cutlery and crockery in the unit and no sharp eating knives available, only butter knives. No broom or mop in the unit. These are self-catering units and should have the items available, in our opinion. The tongs hanging from the braai to use for coals and/or meat can be thrown away, they cannot close properly and were therefore useless. The door between unit 3 and the adjoining unit (I believe it is unit 2) was closed, but is by no means soundproof and so you can hear everything that goes on in the adjoining unit - little to no privacy. Unit 4: No blanket on the large bed, only two small ones on the single beds. There is mold visible on the bathroom roof, so the colonies are already quite large and spores will be everywhere. The bathroom door's handle, on the inside, was broken off and so the door could not be opened from the inside. There is more crockery and cutlery available here, but there were only two large forks and two cake forks. Again no sharp eating knives available, only butter knives. No broom or mop in the unit. These are self-catering units and should have the items available, in our opinion. There are two camping chairs outside by the braai area, but no small table to place a glass or bowl on.
We had a great time at Treelands. Only problem we experienced is that the microwave did not work at all. The electronic gate was also open on time and untimely. Any person can walk in. I feel maybe future guests should just be advised that gate does not close by itself. WiFi is also very weak can't use it.
See stars.
Very basic accommodation. Duvet thin and not warm enough. No handle on inside of bathroom door, once you in you cannot get out unless someone opens it from the outside. Bathroom basin's hot and cold taps are the wrong way round. Holes in pillowcases. Headboard is not bolted in and loose. Accommodation very dated. No outside furniture or table.
The unit is comfortable and clean. Unfortunately there was no curtain in front of the window in the bathroom and the road runs right past the unit. There were also no braai tongs available in the unit. There may only be an indication of where the two plate stove's wall plug is as it is not a microwave oven at the back and we first had to look for the wall plug before we could use the stove.
No customer service, security gate to the unit was broken, mattress a disgrace, linen a disgrace. To date we could not found the unit's main light, only one bedside light working, no teaspoons, no cushions for the patio chairs. The only highlight was the communication with the the booking, the friendly ladies in town where we received our keys and the garden guy who actually assist us on arrival at Treelands Estate.
Treelands Abbey's unit number 1 was bitterly cold (no heat or warmth in the unit). Two oil heaters were both out of order. Exterior lights were not working, leaving it pitch black outside around the house. Outside door could not lock with key, which made matters worse with lights around the house.
Owner doesn't care that there is no hot water, he doesn't care that the next day there is no water at all, he doesn't care to answer his phone. He doesn't care and doesn't want business. Please do want he wants, don't give him business.
TV in living room removed, no DStv, gate is locked with chain and lock for R2700 per night, that's robbery.
The area is ideal for access to most places, just a short walk. The large garden is convenient for children. For a group as well as couples.
I would have enjoyed to have the option of watching something on one of the sports channels.
Staying at Treelands Estate is a must when travelling to Dullstroom. The unit is clean and well maintained and is quite large. The grounds are beautiful and the estate is very safe. The only negative is that there is no outside furniture, which is disappointing, as the braai area is really awesome. It is under a covered patio and looks out into the lush green, tree filled garden, so having a braai would have been amazing.
Very nice and quiet self-catering units.
We had a wonderful stay at Treelands Estate. The cottages are close to the lower town shops (not walking distance, but not too far). The cottage was well equipped and conveniently laid out. The area was very quiet and peaceful. There is secure parking behind an electronic gate and we slept well. The house was clean and tidy. There is a short stretch of dirt road to the cottage, but not a bad road at all.
See stars.
Quiet and peaceful environment, slept well and everything you need is there for self-catering.
Treelands is our chosen accommodation in Dullstroom. We often go to Dullstroom when we have a little break. The places are always clean and tidy, with everything we need. I can suggest that extra blankets can be put out. There was only a duvet on the bed. It was bitterly cold during our weekend there, 4 - 8°C. The electric blanket and duvet helped a lot! Thank you very much Treelands, we will see you again soon!
Treelands is a good destination, walking distance from the center of the village. Luxurious, nice beds, nice shower with good water pressure. Luxury kitchen, nice barbecue. Missed the sports channels on the DStv, had to watch the Springbok/Lions final on the iPad.
I was very happy with the stay at Treelands Estate. Two things that could be improved. The bathroom had a distinct mould wet smell. There was free WiFi offered but the WiFi didn't work.
The unit offers value for money.
The cottage is very centrally located to the main town but out and away from the busy main road of Dullstroom. The house is very neat and well looked after. The unit has an open plan bedroom and dining room. The problem was the built-in braai gave a burning smell to everything in the house (we didn't even make a fire. Braai gave off a bit of a smell). There was also a heat pump / fan or something that turned on and off all night. I'm a very light sleeper and it bothered me a lot. Picking up the keys at the information center / Mayfly Restaurant works great.
We enjoyed our stay at Treelands.
The location is good and the privacy good. There are a few things that I did notice: 1. One part of the warm blanket didn't work. 2. The 1 bedside lamp's wires were exposed at the power point, which for me is a big no-no with children. 3. We couldn't use the braai at all, as soon as you open the braai there is an automatic light, but it threw sparks and made funny noises. 4. There was only a shower, which isn't a problem, but I couldn't see it anywhere when I booked. You can see you are booking a place with a braai area, but that was all. 5. The WiFi was extremely weak and mostly did not want to work at all. 6. The office of the cleaning staff was right in one's private space. 7. We were booked until Saturday, but already drove on Friday. The reason for that is that on Thursday night there were new guests in the complex, and their music was so loud that we didn't sleep at all. It was a hodgepodge of children crying, to loud conversations that had to be heard above the music. It went on until 3 in the morning. It was quite inappropriate for me and I feel that if one pays so much money, there should at least be someone who can see that everyone is respected.
Michelle, the manager, is very helpful. The one bedroom unit is a bit cramped for 2 people and the kitchenette is very small and not really suitable for cooking.
The door between the units is not a good idea. Especially if there are strange people in the other unit and they want to hang out and you have to listen to every word.
Our concerns were: Toilets and showers are dated and did not work effectively. Motor was broken on entry gate. The gate could be easily opened. Had chain and padlock, however, no key fitted and was not labelled. Or explained on info pack.
Not outdoor chairs. Towel rail in bathroom broken. No place to put toiletries in bathroom. Toilet is a children's or toddler toilet. Right side of bed warm blanket no plug. No bath towels. Firewood burns very hard. The whole house is dark.
Very peaceful atmosphere.
Very nice visit in a peaceful environment.
The rooms are clean and tidy.
We did have to change rooms as the water pressure was basically non-existent. Elsie resolved to move to a new room very quickly. I would suggest however that they look into the water pressure as even in the new unit we moved, the pressure was not great.
We were two old people and one sick person, so I chose the reservation wrongly, unknowingly.
Quite, very private and safe.
It was great to walk into a place for once and get what you saw on the website. We also really appreciated that we got fresh towels after 2 days. Was truly a very pleasant experience.
Excellent accommodation, neat and convenient.
We had a very peaceful time at Treelands Estate. The unit was very cozy, fireplace was a treat and the lawn outside for children helped a lot. Would recommend to anyone looking for a quiet place to relax.
Also got wood on arrival for a nice fire and fireplace in the cold.
Als was very neat and clean, would just like to have some wood for the fire place, especially if you check in late and als is already in Dullstroom. Will use Treelands Estate again.
Sleeping facilities of very good quality, everything clean and tidy. Shower just needs some attention.
It was really nice to just walk down to town and appreciate the beautiful surroundings. All that was really out of place was the maintenance and cleanliness. Cabin 9's shower door didn't close, the coffee mugs were still dirty with coffee marks from previous guests. Furthermore, the facilities are appropriate. There is not much privacy because everyone who walks or drives past the cabin can look in so we kept the curtains closed most of the time.
Fry needs a cleaning. Shower head needs replacing and a large mirror in the room would be appreciated.
Very central. Unit has all necessities. Only one problem: the front door faces the parking lot where everyone staying in the units stops and the double door has no curtain or blind on it, so everyone can look into the unit from the outside whether you're lying down sleeping or in your underwear move from the bathroom to the room. No privacy.
Very nice stay, far enough for noise from town. But close enough to be able to walk even.
Everything was very convenient and beautifully clean.
Everything AS promised - great!
Treelands Abbey is a bit expensive for what it offers, but is very neat and clean. I feel they can only have water, coffee, tea, sugar and milk available. I know it's self-catering, but it's the first place where it wasn't available. Then I would also like it if they covered the beds with a top sheet, the feather blanket is too hot in the summer. Their advance feedback is very good.
Treelands Estate is in a quiet part of Dullstroom, no traffic that bothers you. The place is well maintained and well equipped. It's the ideal place if you're tired from driving. You just have to be enough people to take full advantage of the day rate.
Units 6 and 7 of Treelands accommodate separate families, but are not equipped for this. Unit 6 has a covered parking space, but 7 does not. There is only one outdoor barbecue for both units. Both we and our neighbors wanted to barbecue on the same night. We were unable to use the indoor braai in our unit and had to eat in town. The entire unit already smelled of fireplace smoke for the period we were there. Small things bothered, like there are no containers to put something like soap in the shower. The agent we called to activate the DStv was very helpful. Would have appreciated a channel 201 to watch rugby. One pays hopelessly too much for what is offered in my opinion.
My husband and I had a wonderful stay and barbecue. Our cottage was very private and secluded and it was very comfortable for us. Only criticism is that our cottage was not 100% clean and that the cleaning services were there at 09:20 and knocked on our door. Check-out time was 10:00 so we could have finished quietly but then we felt we were being rushed.
Ek het 'n kwaliteit bestemming verwag. Die enigste ding wat dit was, was die dubbelbed.
Filthy black algae kettle and bed sheet was full of marks and dirty. Will never stay there again and owners not concerned.
Wonderfully quiet and centrally located.
Please check the toilet! Lots of water wasted.
Treelands Estate, Abbey and Castle is a beautiful place that is located well and is very safe. The unit is neat, clean and well-equipped with everything one needs to make your stay pleasant.
Very peaceful and beautiful large garden for relaxing. Very nice braai place and enough wood.
Neat and clean. We were impressed with indoor braai, secure parking for our caravan.
We slept over at Treelands Estate on our way home from the Kruger National Park. The accommodation is vert neat. It well equipped for self-catering, but because we only stayed one night, we didn't make use of everything. I recommend that you put a good electrical blanket on the bed to warm the whole bed. The one on the bed was not working effectively in the cold and wet weather. I will definitely stay there again.
Very good accommodation and can definitely recommend it. Little things need a little attention like the fridge which needs to be propped up because one plinth is off (this has been reported before).
The unit was clean, neat and comfortable, with secure parking for your vehicle right next to the unit. Would make use of this again in the future.
We had a really good break away. 5 nights and no pressures. The self-catering unit we stayed in at Treelands Abbey was more than adequate, well equipped overall, clean and functional. Nicely placed allowing us to walk into town, so no need to hold back on the revelry! We do have a few suggestions: 1. A broom. The autumn leaves and dust blow in constantly and there's no way to clean them up. 2. A cutting/chopping board. Braai meat needs to be cut / sliced. We couldn't find one but we had fortunately brought our own. 3. An external refuse bin. After a few days the little bin in the kitchen gets full and we couldn't find anywhere to put the full bag except on the veranda until the cleaning lady came on day 3.
We can suggest that a mirror is placed near a power point to blowdry hair .
Asked for 2 beds but my son and I had to share a bed.
Meet all the necessary requirements for a self-catering unit. Was neat and clean.
It was ideally situated nearby to most amenities. Very nice apartment and well thought-out rooms.
Value for money for sure.
Very nice stay. Rooms are well equipped for the winter. I might have put a mirror in the room that is near a power plug (hair dryer).
See stars.
Unit need some urgent maintenance. 1. Lace curtains or blinds for privacy. In the heat one would like to open the windows and curtains to let some air in. 2. Lamp shades at bedside are in desperate need of help. 3. Shower outlet is broken and may result in cuts. Health and safety risk. 4. Salad bowl and dust pan in the same cupboard is not acceptable. 5. TV mounting skew. 6. No flat sheet on the beds. In the heat sleeping with no fan, no aircon under a duvet is a killer!
Arrived, received keys and unlocked, only to find a dirty unit, not cleaned from the night before. Called owner, only to be told that we should put a lid on it while we wait for the unit to be cleaned. Was quite unprofessional, as our money should have technically started working for us from 14:00. We just went to town annoyed by the situation. The whole experience after that was creepy for us. Would have been much different if we walked into a clean unit.
Sent a 27 pointer mail to owner. A lot needs fixing and washing. The blood stains on the main bed sheet was awful. Never again. Very bad.
This place is nice, will definitely return! We stayed for one night. Clean, neat, private and safe!
See star rating.
Very cozy stay. Perfect for a weekend or just an evening getaway.
What a wonderful surprise! Be assured - we are coming back! Thanks a lot.
We had a fantastic stay. We stayed for 1 night and the place was exactly what we wanted.
Good value for money, check in time too late. Keys not given earlier despite unit being empty.
I don't want to complain but I just have to tell you that the showers can be done with a good scrub because there is dirt in the slots.
Ons het baie lekker gekuier en sal weer van hulle gebruik maak as ons kan! Dit was 'n baie lekker en rustige naweek!
The accommodation was clean and modern. There was no problem getting the key. Friendly and professional service was provided to us. The accommodation is in town and was within walking distance of everything. We just needed to drive to Tonteldoos.
The rooms were luxurious and neat. The shower without glass was something new, but we experienced it in Greece, so it wasn't strange. A very nice place to stay. Will come again.
Our cabin was comfy, beds were very comfortable and everything was clean. The heater helped a lot for it was a cold evening. Even though we booked self-catering, a bit of coffee would have been nice in the kitchen (just enough for one cup). They supplied tea and sugar.
Quality mattresses, work area in kitchen a bit small, will book Treelands in future.
Very neat and nice close to the main street. That electric blanket was amazing for the cold evening.
See the stars.
My partner's leg was in plaster so when we got there and found our initial booked place had stairs this was a potential problem. However, the lady who handled our booking sorted the situation out within minutes and ensured that we experienced a lovely weekend. Thank you very much.
Good location to explore Dullstroom, comfortable accommodation.
Great relaxing accommodation. Stunning garden and stylish units.
Can see the owners really planned well when the rooms were laid out. The quality of furniture and equipment is of the highest quality.
Only problem I experienced during my stay was that there wasn't a plug at the mirror for a hairdryer etc. There was also no extension to reach the mirror. The room was 100% tidy and clean but unfortunately the bathroom was not as clean as I hoped it would be.
Very nice stay, just feel it is a bit expensive. Fully equipped. Great night's rest! Pay attention to small things that create a bad impression.
Great accommodation and a really nice stay, but after more than a week the owner still couldn't answer me why we didn't have hot water the last night. Incredibly poor customer service.
Bathroom lights didn't work, water was turned off.
Treelands Estate is totally misrepresented on the website. The place was unkempt, dark and musty. Lights blown, TV out of order. At R1200 per night, a total "rip off".
The spacious room makes up for the rather tiny living area. Equipped with everything you need we had a great braai with the wood they supplied.
Everything was up to standard. White bedding. Beautiful garden. Quiet, just far enough from the main road. The test is probably whether we will book there again: Definitely!
Everything was neat and the unit has nice space. Just look at window frames trades that are loose. Furthermore, I would recommend it to my friends and family anytime. Thanks for the free wood. It was cold, but soon sorted it out.
We had a great time! It was damn cold, but the fireplace in our little house kept us nice and warm.
It was centrally located, close to everything! Was very neat and private. Treelands Estate also offers free Wi-Fi to their guests.
Would recommend them!
Had a great stay and is close to the shops. Place very clean and has everything one needs. Braai facilities are perfect.
Well located. You can walk from there to anywhere in Dullstroom. Very clean and tidy.
Excellent stay. Just confusing to collect keys on arrival.
We will definitely visit Dullstroom again, it was such a friendly town and the place to stay was perfect.
When we arrived the drawer of the fridge under the freezer compartment was full of water which had overflowed. What a mess because there were no rags or anything to clean up with. There is also no mop with which we could sweep the floor, and had to leave it to dry. Fortunately, these are non-marking tiles. Even a broom would be handy.
Accommodation was pleasant. Due to unforeseen circumstances (installation of a new shower) we couldn't have a nice warm shower the evening. The bed lamp and electric blanket both used one two prong plug and there was no attachment for another one so we had to sleep cold. The other bed lamp's switch had a short circuit and went off from time to time. The bathroom's sink didn't want to drain, but the heater saved the evening and the TV was a winner. See you again!
Very nice stay at Treelands Estate. Unfortunately there was a problem with our booking between LekkeSlaap and the owner, but luckily it was quickly resolved by a local agent who went out of her way to help us. Perfect weekend stay for couple or family.
We really enjoyed the stay in Dullstroom Treelands Abbey Estate. The accommodation was neat, clean and suitable for my needs. I would have appreciated a full length mirror in the unit. Maybe behind the door or even inside the closet. A curtain or blind that can be pulled down in front of the front door would also be appreciated as it gets light very early and the room is then very bright.
Very nice peaceful stay. Very neat and we enjoyed it a lot.
We were in unit 2. It is very comfortably appointed and very neat. During winter the unit is very cold, there is a heater, but it takes a while to heat up the unit. During the day you can walk to town, but I would not recommend it at night. The shower above the bath is very narrow and not suitable for adults. The bathroom door was broken and there is no plug close to a mirror.
We had a lovely peaceful weekend and felt safe. I can recommend the place.
The instructions received by e-mail regarding the collection of the key did not correspond to the hours when we could get it. The WiFi settings were also faulty, resulting in no WiFi. Furthermore, there are no clearly marked areas where the cars of the respective units must park. As a result our car was parked unprotected next to the unit. The unit itself was very comfortable and tidy and well equipped for a few days sleepover.
It was clean and safe and that is about all one can say.
Definitely value for money. Has everything one needs.
Treelands Castle is beautifully situated in a deep yard among lush green eucalyptus trees. The delicious smell of the trees makes you feel as if you are hidden away in your own forest with your own castle. The castle is very spacious, very neat and very tasteful. The fireplace in the middle of the dining room and living room makes the stay even more cozy. We had a great stay and would definitely like to enjoy Treelands Castle again and definitely recommend it!
The room was well equipped, comfortable and tidy.
Very nice stay after a long day's drive to get there. This is our favorite stopover on the way to the Kruger. Nice shopping places.
What a lovely place this is: walking distance from all the restaurants and shops. Warm, romantic feeling thanks to the braai area in the room. Will definitely go back soon!
It's nice and close to the town's shops and restaurants, but far enough away that you feel isolated.
Had a wonderful stay. Very neat and clean. Crisp bedding. Very well equipped with everything you need in the kitchen.
It was wonderfully quiet and peaceful.
If one may give constructive criticism - maybe a bigger heater and more comfortable TV bench? Alternative to perhaps placing another TV in the bedroom for freezing winter evenings. However, the above are only nice-to-haves. Bed and pillows super luxurious and comfortable!
The shower in the bath was a bit inconvenient, but nothing too serious. Other than that, it was very nice and we can't complain about anything.
Excellent value for money. Everything is clean, fresh, neat and the fireplace wood helped a lot!
The fireplace is romantic but the smell was bad.
Quiet and safe. Whatever is necessary. Luxury.
Nice man nice.
Booked one night. No complaints. Very neat.
Neat place with all the amenities and safety one needs. All point of criticism of the specific unit is that all 4 beds are in one room.
The accommodation met all our needs. Location is perfect and the surroundings are beautiful. We will definitely stay at Treelands again in the future.
I have an objection, the hot water in the shower was cold. I let Elsie know and it was attended to, but the evening when my husband showered, the water alternated between hot and cold again. It's not the worst, but it's not nice to be cold. I also have a suggestion to mention on the email what your office hours are, because they are very different from the hours in the city. Furthermore, everyone was helpful and great. It's a cute place.
This unit is cutely decorated and has an indoor braai. The keys are obtained from a central point, but that was not 100% clear from the discussion. The unit was very clean and tidy and provided with down duvets and blankets to protect you from the cold. The indoor braai also served as a fireplace. It is quiet and peaceful and you will get enough rest because it is also off the main street. Here you will easily be able to stay for a few days.
Will definitely stay there again and also recommend it to friends and family. Perfect for Dullstroom's cold with fireplace and braai room. Feels like home away from home.
Treelands Abbey was exactly what we needed to get away for a long weekend. Tranquility, good accommodation and walking distance from everything in Dullstroom. Will definitely stay at Treelands again and recommend. Thank you very much, it was wonderful.
No long mirror in bedroom, it's actually a requirement. No carpets on floors, not even in the bathroom. One stove would not turn off.
Enjoyed it, will spend the night there again.
A very comfortable unit. The bedding and towels are pure white and the bed sleeps wonderfully! The garden is beautiful and peaceful. Will stay there again if I'm in the area.
Generally, we thought it was fantastic. For a one-night stay over it was fine, but for a longer stay, the tiny bathrooms would have bothered us.
Security is a problem as the electric gates and fence are still being worked on. Preferably there should also be a safe in the room for locking up valuable personal items. Internet access is a problem. The WiFi almost never worked. The location is very good as it is very close to the main street. Personally, I would also prefer that the time that guests have to leave the premises be moved to 11:30. The rooms are small enough to be cleaned again in a short time for new guests before 14:00.
The accommodation was nice close to the town. One can easily walk to explore everything. The room was neat and clean, you can just tell it's new. Unfortunately there was no hot water on Saturday night and Sunday morning. The "emergency number" we were given for management was not answered and we had to wait and leave a message.
Accommodation was comfortable for some of the persons, but extremely uncomfortable for others. The bathroom light does not work and the bathroom door cannot close. Persons who stayed in 2 rooms had to use bathrooms in other persons' rooms in the evening/night. The bathroom is old, dirty, neglected and cold. No wood is provided for the fireplace, and there are no cleaning services. It's spacious and beautiful, but it's the little things that bother.
Treelands Estate offers value for money. For the rest, the stay was peaceful, pleasant and comfortable. I would recommend it anytime.
Full marks!
See the stars below.
We were pleasantly surprised. The garden is beautiful and peaceful and the place to stay makes you feel right at home.
We really enjoyed our time. It's a beautiful and well-equipped suite. Will definitely use Treelands again on our next visit to Dullstroom.
Treelands is very well located. It is quiet and peaceful. We could walk everywhere. We appreciate the fact that all the guests respect each other's privacy and silence. We will definitely stay there again.
The keys were not available when we wanted to check in, and we had to wait an hour for them. Other than that, everything was very nice. The place was tidy, and all basic necessities were there. It is close to the main street.
Very nice stay. Close to everything. Very quiet area.
Treelands Estate is a large tree-filled yard that is closed and safe for small children. We stayed in Unit 4 - this is the one bedroom apartment with the small kitchen and living area. The unit was cold for me - even though the owners provided with a fireplace, heater, electric blankets etc. It is located under the big trees, and does not get much sun. A carpet in the living area would be a bonus. I think it would be more ideal in the summer to stay in this unit. The three-bedroom unit looks like it's getting more sun. This place is ideal for a group of people who want to get away together for a weekend. Nicely located close to the town centre, but in a quiet street. I think for the price one pays I would pay attention to unit 4's bathroom (the toilet seat and the shower curtain can be replaced.)
The place is beautifully clean and nicely furnished. Everything you need is there! The price is perhaps a bit high for what you get. We experienced our stay very positively. In the summer it sure looks beautiful.
We really enjoyed it and will definitely come again. Treelands is neat and safe. A real oasis for travelers and also for a few days of silence and rest. Reasonable prices and helpful staff.
Nice, warm and clean. We mostly used the fireplace area which was comfortable.
Great stay. Unit 5's bedrooms are large, and a spacious living/relaxing/entertaining area. There are 3 TVs making it comfortable for everyone. Unit clean and beds very comfortable. Unit 5 is definitely a must for a very large family or a nice group of people who want to hang out outside on the porch next to the fire or want to grill a little meat inside and hang out when it rains.
Very nice but small - and we personally thought it was a bit overpriced. we also found there was little to no privacy with staff in and out of a side door in our small area, banging the door each time - until we complained to management about it. Thank you for all the trouble you went to. I will definitely use you again!
It was very good!
See the stars below.
Our first 24 hours were not so peaceful, due to the alarm going off all the time. As soon as anyone moved in any unit, the alarm went off. We had an 11 week old baby with us who was constantly bothered by the alarm - throughout the night the alarm also went off. They only came to drop it off on Saturday morning.
I was satisfied, it's a clean place to sleep, but that's all.
The idea of incoherence hit one upon entering. The drying towels hung untidy in the kitchen. There was a very distressed smell in the house. There was a used bar of soap in the shower (probably all 3 visits late). There was an absolutely filthy, dirty bathroom rug by the sinks. The second double room is far from the toilet and shower. We will not use this accommodation again due to the above reasons. The beds were cleanly covered and comfortable but the rest that we have mentioned detracts a lot from the unit.
