Thabazimbi is frontier country: tamed by courageous men and women during the 19th and early 20th century. It is to these men and women whom we have dedicated our company, to these pioneers whose lives were all about trekking and especially hunting!

At the beginning of the 20th century, they found their peace and rest in this world of opportunity. They built their plain little 'hartbees' thatched houses all along the banks of the Crocodile River and finally 'came home'. The friendship between the president of the then Zuid-Afrikaansche Republiek, president Paul Kruger (one of South Africa's major nature conservationists) and the Tswana chief Ramokoka was legendary and is a further colourful story we would like to share with you on your visit to Trekpad.
