Very neat, friendly service, the food from the restaurant is delicious.
Was a great stay, great food. The service was amazing!
It was very pleasant.
Outstanding! I don't think there is a better place in the area!
Room was just very small for the value for money.
Our breakfast experience was slow and lacked service, but the manager on duty did then rectify the situation, and we were able to leave content with the service. Overall, the staff are friendly, and the game ranger was amazing. The lodge doesn't cater much for kids, except for the pool. Would suggest this gets looked into, especially when the website states families are welcome. The garden and common areas are very well kept, and the rooms are great.
Absolutely amazing! We loved every second and was sad to leave. lovely game drive experience and fantastic food at the restaurant. all the staff were so friendly and professional. Highly recommended.
Chalets are very clean and tidy, very pleasant stay and everything works as it should.
Saw few animals, but the idea was to get into the forest away from the noise of the city. 30 minutes from Pretoria. Staff gets 5 stars.
The accommodation was everything needed to just get away and relax in a place so close, yet so far from the busy life out there.
The plates were chipped, which in our opinion is not up to standard for a 4 star lodge and the restaurant was also not up to 4 star standard at all. Half of the ingredients on the breakfast menu were not available and a substandard meal was served without any explanation. The wine glasses were also not 4 star and the waiters were quite ignorant of the menu.
Loud music played during 2 of the 3 nights until as late as 06:00 in the morning. Is ridiculous and the lodge has done nothing to manage/stop it. If you are looking for a quiet and peaceful weekend getaway Tshikwalo is not the place. Restaurant's food is not up to standard and is not what you pay for. Braai facilities at our room/on the stoep were also not cleaned every day.
Location excellent - staff and accommodation very good - and game viewing sublime.
The variety of dishes at the restaurant is one of the best and is prepared tasty.

So glad we took advantage of the game drives. Morning and afternoon trips. Seen a lot of wildlife. Only of the big five we didn't see was the leopard.
Thoroughly enjoyed our time at the lodge. Beautiful boma and outdoor dining/lounge area. Kitchen needs an upgrade as there was limited appliances and minimal fridge space.
Chalet was clean and tidy and member of staff asked if everything was in order and if we needed anything else. Reception at the restaurant was just as friendly and our waiter helpful, friendly and communicated well with us. Even a joke is appreciated. Food was top notch and very tasty and attractively presented.
Relax, ideal for any type of getaway. Alone, couples and/or family. The restaurant's food is very reasonably priced and delicious. Good and friendly service from all the staff.
My vacation was good and everything was on top and I really enjoyed it, thank you Tshikwalo.
Friendly and hospitable, peaceful and wonderful facilities with a nice veranda.
Great weekend getaway destination. Quality food. Good value for money.
Amazing lodge, amazing staff! Highly recommend Tshikwalo Lodge!
We enjoyed our time so much we wanted to book two extra nights. The chalet rooms are beautiful and comfortable and practically furnished with a nice fireplace and porch. The service was excellent and the on-site restaurant has a very nice view of a small pond with giraffes, goats and warthogs that came to drink water there. The food was also very tasty. The lodge is located close to the main entrance as well as the Safari Mall. The game drive and picnic were delicious and I would highly recommend them. We can't wait to go back again soon! Very nice gardens that are well maintained.
Facilities are excellent, neat and clean with everything you could need. The children enjoyed the upstairs bedroom, the railing is high enough that nothing can go wrong. Only thing is to get to the upstairs bedroom you have to go to the stairs outside. The stairs are covered though and the door can lock to the room upstairs - is just a bit cold in the winter. The braai facilities are also excellent, covered braai, detached braai and the boma with the necessary to cook your meat there as well.
It's an ideal spot for a quick weekend away. Great to be so close to nature.

Good value for money, the service is excellent and staff very helpful and friendly. Chalets are well equipped. The sink is really just too small and you quickly smash the crockery, very impractical. Chalets are clean and serviced every day. The restaurant and deck are lovely to sit on and relax. Lovely at Tshikwalo Lodge and highly recommend them.
Highly recommended getaway close to JHB.
We were 2 couples who traveled from Pretoria and stayed in the self-catering unit for 4. The distance and location was perfect, very friendly staff as well as a very informative game drive. We will definitely go again.
Dit is ‘n pragtige lodge en sal hul streng aanbeveel.
Good value for money, the service was excellent, the staff were friendly and the accommodation was of high quality.
Was at the guest house for a work function. Very nice rooms and living areas. Nice and private and everything is nice and clean. Beautiful gardens and sparkling swimming pool. Staff is very friendly. Would definitely recommend it.
The lodge is very neat and clean. Great food and great service.
We had our quick getaway and came to celebrate my birthday at Tshikwalo Lodge at the same time! Chalet is beautifully clean and luxurious with white percale cotton sheets, the restaurant staff are extremely polite and helpful. I feel for a 4-star lodge there could be a little more finishing with their food presentation.
Would feel free to suggest something for children, like dart tables, or something like swimming pools etc.
Thank you very much, see you soon!
Nothing fancy, it's a nice lodge in an area I have never been to. I would need to visit another lodge to gain an accurate impression. People were friendly and lodge clean. They were very accommodating on the game drive.
Very nice meal and stay at Tshikwalo.
Tshikwalo is an ideal destination and the staff who work there are very nice and helpful. The service at the restaurant is a bit slow, but the food was good. A bath or electric geyser in the chalets will certainly add value - the shower heads must be turned at specific angles to effectively release hot water. It's quite a struggle, especially with children. However, the overall experience at Tshikwalo was very good.

Staff very friendly and helpful. Unit neat and functional. Site is neat.
The lodge is conveniently close to our house. It is very neat and of high quality. The facilities are very private and serviced daily. The staff are extremely friendly and helpful.
Staff go out of their way to make your stay as comfortable as possible. Every night the boma fire was lit and everyone was very friendly. Ate breakfast at the restaurant and it was very nice.
Close to Gauteng, very wild and neat. We will go again for sure.
Very pleasant place, good service and very helpful. Properly welcomed.
Restaurant's location is fantastic, but food could have been much better.
Game, especially bigdie big 5 is rare although we were very lucky to see the cheetah and her 7 cubs. Housing is nice, neat and quiet. Could really do with bigger fridge and struggled with the hot.
Although it was a self catering unit we did request to make use of the restaurant. We ended up spending over R 2000 plus on restaurant food and drinks for two people and we didn't take much. We did mention to them that it was our 27th wedding anniversary so we hoped for a bit of extra spoiling but unfortunately it was not noted and our stay was treated as business as usual. Nevertheless, it was still worth it and I will go back for a second time.
Had a great stay. Enjoyed the game drives, although it is a bit expensive if family of 4 (4x300). Everything worked. However, think the campsite should be moved further away from chalets. Access to chalets is through the camping area. Children play and ride bikes in the road. The chalets could also have been placed further apart. (Something for the future).
The chalet was practically laid out and well equipped. The restaurant is great.
However, we had no hot water all weekend. They asked us on Saturday morning if it was warm and made adjustments, but unfortunately it didn't make a difference, the water was still cold and this on one of the coldest weekends.
The staff were friendly and very helpful.
Don't think it's value for money. Incredibly expensive for what you get. Stayed in the standard chalet. One expects at least that there will be coffee and tea available. Also didn't have enough cutlery (only one fork). Staff were incredibly friendly and professional.
Very nice and clean place and will definitely come back and bring my family.
Game drive with Carla was delicious and very interesting. Restaurant is of excellent quality. Beautiful campsite.
A gorgeous B&B room in a special resort, with the luxury of Nyala buck roaming around the camp. Very clean and resort (actually the whole park is really well kept, including picnic spots and bathrooms). Lovely staff and excellent game drives. Ask for Karla to do you drives. She is friendly and very knowledgeable.
Have a good time and relax in the chalet. Breakfast in the restaurant was delicious and was pleasantly surprised when a large elephant bull walked past our chalet on the way to the drinking hole that evening.

Very nice, will go again for sure.
We had a fantastic weekend at Tshikwalo Lodge. It was terribly nice and very peaceful. Rooms were nice and clean and tidy. The atmosphere was awesome.
Staff were very friendly especially Andy and Achim who made sure everything was in order and also informed us about environment and wildlife.
Nice camp atmosphere.
Very impressed by the friendliness and helpfulness of the employees at Tshikwalo. The chalet was very clean and serviced every day. The standard chalet has everything you need, the only negative is the small fridge in the kitchen. Would really recommend Tshikwalo for a peaceful weekend away where you can sit back and know everything is in good hands.
Game wardens have good knowledge. Game drives are worth it. The bush picnic's snacks need to be reviewed - too much starch.
We stayed in a family chalet for a couple of nights and really enjoyed the relaxed atmosphere! It was great to get out of Johannesburg and sit around the fireplace chatting until late at night.
Staff are hospitable and friendly. Chalet is well equipped, private, clean and tidy. It was wonderful to be able to rest so close to nature. Animals walk past you. Ranger's knowledge made game drive very exciting.
Well located near Gauteng.
The management of the place needs to be tightened up a lot: Gate code is not given on arrival. One of the men's ablutions did not have hot water and there was no notice to indicate an alternative. The receptionist was truly inept. The other was again 100%. The wild ride could not take place because both their vehicles were out of order.
Some appliances and cutlery just needs to be updated/replaced and it gets hot in the 2 rooms with no air conditioning so a door stop for the sliding doors or windows would be nice just to get a breeze through the rooms. Bathrooms are beautiful and the beds are very comfortable. Nice large modern fridge.
Over sell and under deliver. False advertising. One extremely small baby pool for the entire camp of 50 stands, all chalets and conference groups. With 4 pool chairs only, can't even get to the pool. Over priced for what's offered.
Game drive, no Big 5.
Was very nice, very hospitable and clean.
Very clean, neat and the restaurant is amazing. Ablution always clean and we always had hot water.
Very friendly staff; neat accommodation with an excellent view of a waterhole where elephants, giraffes and many kinds of goats came to surprise us.
The people were so friendly and the facilities very nice. We will definitely book again.
We booked the two bedroom unit and everything was fantastic. Most beautiful view from our unit and restaurant and best staff at Tshikwalo Lodge.
Next visit at Dinokeng is for sure again at Tshikwalo Lodge.
The camping pitches are very spacious and well laid out and very shady. Ablutions are very neat and clean. Very neat restaurant with a nice view over the small pond. The camping area gives you a real peaceful woodland feel. Value for money.
We enjoyed every moment. Would definitely recommend Tshikwalo Lodge for a peaceful camping spot.
Neat accommodation that is well maintained, just a shame bathrooms were not cleaned at all on Saturday.
We really enjoyed our stay at Tshikwalo and especially appreciated the green lawns. There are various activities to suit everyone's taste, lots of wildlife and even a few 4x4 routes here and there!
The lodges is set in natural bush inside Dinokeng. Very friendly and relaxed place. My brother and I had a pleasant 4 nights.
Great campsite with clean toilets and swimming pool to keep kids busy. Nice restaurant with view of water hole.
We had a great holiday weekend. Will visit you again. But next time will prefer a Luxury Chalet.
We stayed in the 10 bed house as we were having a family reunion. The house is well equipped, but unfortunately the gas water heating does not work and everyone had cold showers during the weekend. The house is not well located, being in the middle of a lot of activity and roads it has no privacy and is not really "in the bush". The fourth bedroom in the attic has 4 beds, but the stairs are really for kids (definitely not for older people) and a safety risk from how steep they are and with loose steps.
Everything was neat, we had a great time.
Very neat units. Thank you Carla for a very nice game drive.
They firstly mixed up bookings and we had to compromise to move from self catering to B&B and they didn’t clean our room for the duration of our stay.
Thank you very much to Tshikwalo Lodge, beautiful place, clean and neat. The service was 100%. Thank you Johan and Valerie for your friendly service and chats! We will definitely come back!
The staff are very friendly and helpful. Cleaning service was in the bathroom just after 6 am to clean in the mornings. And the bathrooms were never dirty or unusable during the weekend. It is a very nice, tranquil and family-friendly resort, we will definitely return.
It was an unbelievable weekend. Decor and linen is wonderful. The staff are very friendly and helpful. Wonderful bird life and friendly nyalas.
Was very happy with cleanliness of the camp and bathrooms. Friendly people.
Beautiful place. The manager and the staff were very friendly and helpful. Will definitely go there again!
Everything from the arrival to the farewell was really exceptional. One of the cleanest neatest resorts I've visited in a long time. All the staff, especially Rigardi, are very friendly and helpful. I just would have liked a large fridge with a decent freezer compartment in the chalet.
Die verblyf was puik! Tshikwalo is 'n pragtige plek en die kamer waar ons gebly het was skoon, netjies en ons het baie lekker gebly. Dit was great om op ons stoep te sit en wilde diere te sien wat 'n klipgooi weg van ons was.
Tshikwalo Lodge is very nice and clean with a peaceful forest atmosphere with friendly staff and nice and close from Pretoria. The units are comfortable and clean. The restaurant has excellent service with delicious food and is a nice lookout point where elephants and other animals come to drink water. Feel free to visit, it's a very pleasant lodge.
It was a peaceful getaway, close to home but also far enough to enjoy the bushveld silence. It is not a place for busyness or many activities. Here you rest!
A beautiful place where you can relax.
Roads can be more clearly designated on map or map renewal. Paid for extra cutlery and never received for extra child.
It was pleasant in the chalet. All the amenities are there and the service is good. It's nice to stay like this in the reserve and hear the wild and field sounds in the evening. We did not see lions and elephants, but many goats, zebras and black wild cattle, also ostriches. It was a quiet few days.
We were pleasantly surprised with Tshikwalo Lodge. Had a nice clean, quiet and pleasant stay. Nice favorable rates for senior citizens and can happily recommend the place. Restaurant great service and nice lookout where elephants come to drink water. Ablutions and residential units very clean and serviced daily. Feel free to visit. Only suggestion is to install air conditioners in the apartment. Can get quite hot in the rooms, but thank you for the fans which did bring some relief.
Very nice stay at Tshikwalo.
The shower has no shower door or curtain and the type of shower head causes the entire bathroom floor to be wet after a shower. The hot water system is a gas heater and the shower has a mixer. The two do not work together and it is impossible to set the mixer so that you get constant temperature water in the shower. It is either too hot or too cold and the temperature changes continuously which makes it impossible to enjoy the shower.
In future have more entertainment for children, add more pools and slides. The game drive should be included in the total amount. I like the cleanliness and friendly staff.
Third time we visit Dinokeng and eat at Tshikwalo every time. Food excellent and affordable. Owner, manager and staff very helpful and friendly. Saw many animals. Accommodation well furnished and clean. However, an interior curtain at the sliding door would be appropriate for more privacy. Personally, I think that the "self drive" permit should be included in your stay.
Very pleasant 3 days spent at Tshikwalo Lodge. Unit 3 was comfortable and very well equipped. Staff very friendly and helpful. The restaurant was very nice and prices are realistic. We will definitely visit the resort again.
We were looking for a few days' getaway and booked Tshikwalo Lodge. We were there during the week so it was really quiet. Everyone, even the people who worked in the garden were very friendly. The little house was cosy and cleverly appointed. Was wonderful to sit on the patio and watch the giraffes and to listen to the bird song, what more do you want. I'd recommend Tshikwalo Lodge anytime and am already planning my next visit.
Would definitely recommend to anyone who needs an escape, peaceful and good service.
Very very pleasant accommodation. Lots of trees and shade with grass. Lovely dinner in the restaurant. Very friendly and helpful staff. Will definitely visit it again soon.
The house is equipped for 2 people and very cute. We were able to relax on the veranda with a great view on the bush. The prices of the restaurant were a bit steep for the value.
Ansa assisted us and showed us around, she made us feel right at home.
See the stars.
The rooms are beautiful, clean and well-equipped with everything you will need with the best quality products. It is very tranquil and clean. The staff are friendly and helpful and we had a warm welcome. I am excited about the new lapa that they're busy building and we'll definitely visit again.
Heinrich was very friendly and helpful. We really enjoyed the accommodation!
Tshikwalo Lodge is a small area within a stunning reserve. We checked-in for a getaway weekend in August. We were consumed by beautiful nature and it was very difficult to leave. The little house is basic and beautiful - stunning white linen and king-sized bed. We did a late afternoon game drive and saw zebra, wildebeest, giraffe, blesbuck, and kudu. We were ons the heels of a herd of elephants, but we coulnd't find them. I recommend Tshikwalo Lodge and wil surely return.
When we called management to witness what we found in the toilet, we were told to go sit in the bar whilst they fumigate the room. We had to leave a night earlier than we anticipated due to the above. The owner by the name Lucia refused to reimburse for the night that we never used their facility even though it was not our intention to leave a night before. By the way, when we went out, all openings were locked. This means that the chalet was dirty as we couldn't justify where the scorpions came from.
