39 guests' feedbackWe had a great time at Twalumba, were kindly received by Sonja who explained everything to us and showed us where everything was. The place is well equipped with everything one could need. Many animals came to visit us and were also close to the river for morning walks along the wire. Nice big table where everyone can sit and chat and eat well.
The setup is great for families who go together on holiday, with three separate houses and one communal area.
It was excellent. Will definitely go back; everyone enjoyed themselves.
Thank you very much, we really enjoyed it, really one of the nicest holidays.
We were 8 men on a golf weekend. We thoroughly enjoyed it. The pool was an absolute delight. Kitchen was well equipped. We lacked nothing, could just relax and enjoy. Thank you very much!
Very good service. We had a nice stay.
Very nice stay with a large group of family and small children. Very kindly received by Servaas. Units are neat and clean, but could use a bit of updating and lighting is not sufficient (inside and outside). Expected a bit more luxury for the price, especially something basic like comfortable seating. It was a great time though!
Small things that may need attention, but we understand we live in the woods. Thank you Erika, for always handling our questions quickly.
1. The photos need to be updated as they are deceiving - there are 3 other properties all around us yet the photos indicate no properties around Twalumba! 2. When there is load shedding in the morning of check-out, your guests should be made aware of that the night before. We had to wait 45 minutes for Erika due to this. She was 5 minutes away! Guests might say they are checking out at 10, but plans change as in our case that morning. Erika should have come out to the place to double-check when we were planning to check out knowing we would not have been able to get hold of her!
Everything was cool, only the Eskom loadshedding caught us.
Our visit there was unforgettable. The cottages and kitchen area are very well equipped and you literally only need your clothes, swimming towels and food! Many kudus and zebras walked quite comfortably into the visiting area. We even saw a leopard on the Wildlife Park side. Nice house for a large group that wants to visit together. Thank you Erika for all your help - you are a real asset to the place.
The bread pan for the braai is a gem! We could not find the large umbrella and outside chairs, but it wasn't too much of an issue since we were mostly out during the days and sat around the fire at night. One confusing element is that the alarm gives the same number of beeps regardless of whether you are turning it on or off, so we accidentally set it off twice not knowing whether it was on or off. Also, the talking camera really freaks you out when you don't know that it does that!
Amazing place highly recommend it.
I would definitely return, such a lovely place.
Had several animals right up to the front porch. Close to river for viewpoints. Amos is very helpful and very friendly!
We loved every moment.
Very peaceful and beautiful. Have a good time and relax with family. It was very hot, but the pool definitely helped. Thank you. Smith family.
Unfortunately, we were really not happy as we paid a domestic R400 for cleaning and all that was done were the bedrooms, bathrooms and kitchen cleaned. The skottel was not cleaned, fire pit not swept and all bins were left full. There were no blankets in our unit and our first night was cold. No extra toilet paper, black bin bags or sponges to wash dishes. These are basic necessities. A bit more care and attention to detail and to service etc. and Twalumba will be one of the best.
Sixtieth birthday celebrated. Units well appointed. Very good kitchen facilities. Near the river. Pleasant experience.
We would only like to suggest the following: That they have the central kitchen area treated for cook rats. That they also put coffee cups in the rooms (we took the central kitchen's cups to the room). Furthermore, we were very satisfied.
Destination is perfect for nature lovers.
Twalumba is perfect for families with small children. We really enjoyed our stay there and were so surprised at how conveniently everything was arranged. The owner was very helpful and made sure we had wood and anything else we needed. Twalumba is walking distance from the fence against the wildlife park and we saw many animals, from elephants to lions.
We had a great time. Amos is very helpful and friendly. The kitchen well equipped. The units are very comfortable. The shower is the best. Would definitely recommend.
Would definitely recommend!
Twalumba is walking distance from the Crocodile River. It is stunning and so peaceful just to sit and watch the animals. We recommend it to everyone.
My family and I had a great time at Twalumba, the surrounding is amazing walking up and seeing giraffes walking about and other different animals was mind blowing. The accommodation was clean, the service was great there's nothing I can say that is negative about the place. If you want peace of mind Twalumba is the place to go.
One can have a nice quiet time.
Twalumba is definitely value for money. There is more than one needs. WiFi was a bonus as we have teenagers. Aircon and pool were great in the heat! We will definitely come again.
Amos is an absolute gem - he was there to welcome us and help off load all our luggage. He was always available to troubleshoot any minor hiccups.
Thank you to Twalumba owners for a well laid out and fully equiped venue for 12 guests. The individual houses that sleep 4 each provide privacy when going away in a group and the property is well laid out with the communal kitchen and swimming pool. As the webpage mentioned you only need to take your swimming towels and clothes. Peaceful and relaxing can highly recommend Twalumba.
A lovely place to share with friends or family. The 3 separate sleeping units ideal. Boma and kitchen well equipped and enough grills etc. for the barbecue. Swimming pool and the animals that come to visit. Walking distance to the fence and super quiet. Would definitely recommend Twalumba.
The house is fully equipped. Everything we needed was available. Very neat!
Twalumba is collection of 3 double storey buildings with number 1 having the super king size bed on the first floor. There are two single beds in each building. The kitchen is separate and is equipped with everything you'd need (probably things you won't even need). The ice cream maker was a nice touch. The sitting area and the splash pool were great. We saw zebras, kudus, warthogs and plenty of birds pass by during the day. The crocodile bridge is 2 minute walk away and if you are up for it you can take an hour and half walk up to the viewing point. Although I must say, there isn't anything great about the viewing point and the areas along the way are just as great. Overall we enjoyed it and we recommend it.
Twalumba consists of 3 individual family units (sleeping 4), and can be rented separately or as a whole for larger groups. There is a communal kitchen. We were a group of 9 and rented all. The owner, Servaas Prinsloo, went out of his way to assist us during power failures / load shedding - bought a generator for back-up. December is not the ideal time to visit due the heat, but we still enjoyed it. All units have air conditioning, and there is a small splash pool. Twalumba is close to the river and viewing points.
Beautiful decor, well equipped. We couldn't ask for anything more. Thanks will be back soon.
The place is very beautiful. Feel free to upgrade it a bit. A chest freezer would also be welcome for ice, etc. if you are a large group. The kitchen is terribly hot and needs at least a fan.
Absolutely wonderful. The rooms were spacious privacy was another great thing nature was beautiful.
Value for money! Great location!
On arrival Amos was there to help us. He unloaded and explained everything. He said that if we needed anything, we just needed to come and call him. Very good and thoughtful. Would stay there again without hesitation. Thanks, Aliza, we're sorry we missed you, but will come and stay over again.
