Wonderful research facility with visitor access. Where else can you stroke a cheetah's ears without losing a finger?

We really enjoyed Ukutula, the tour was very informative and playing with the leopard cubs was very cute. The lions and hyaenas at night was a stunning sound. The staff was always available and willing to help and the owner also involved and goes out of her way to make guests feel welcome. We self-catered, but ate at the restaurant on the last night and oh my! MasterChef quality food. It was off the books. We spent 3 nights and it was enough to do everything and relax. With small children, staying for more days might get a bit boring, because they can only swim and walk a bit. We packed our little boy's bike, which he could ride around a bit and booked extra wildlife viewing trips. Great getaway venue and so close to Gauteng. Will definitely visit again.
Een heerlijk, supergaaf begin van onze reis. De rangers en iedereen die helpt zijn erg kundig en de leeuwenwelpen liggen gewoon om je heen en spelen graag mee. De grotere leeuwen waren indrukwekkend maar alles is super geregeld en veilig. Mooie omgeving, ze hadden (zou bijna vergeten) ook zebra's, impala en ander wild, lekker ontbijt, zelf warm eten gekookt. En oh ja, ook goede bedden. Al met al aan te bevelen dus!

We were looking for something 'different' to do with our elder daughter on her visit to South Africa and we found it at Ukutula Lion Lodge. The roar of the lions at night, a cuddle with the cubs, far too much food at breakfast, and one evening meal, hours riding with game and less than an hour from the Big 5 and an elephant rides. Definitely an experience to remember.
No complaints, a good lodge.
Ukutula exceeded all our expectations and we would gladly recommend it to friends and family. It was a great experience!!
My daughter was sick during our visit and the support and care we got from all staff particularly the owners was out of this world. Thank you!
