17 guests' feedbackVery well organized by staff and I vote for the R1500.00 refunded deposit because it is a very nice place to relax among domesticated animals and it needs to be looked after and kept that way.
Pool was not clean. I took pictures.
Very nice place, enjoyed it a lot as well as the animals that walk around the place and eat food.
Relax, the place is neat and has enough space. We really enjoyed the nights.
Was very surprised at all the wildlife so close to the gate, night owls were a winner. At one point 10 counted in the tree at once.
Visited Marloth a few times before and it never disappoints. The house is in a great location. House very clean and did not need anything more. We were 4 adults and 4 children. House was not overcrowded at all. We enjoyed the splash pool on the hot days. Taryn was always helpful with everything we needed. Thanks again for this lovely place. Will book it definitely again.
Very nice and peaceful stay, no problems, lots of animals.
The communication for me who doesn't have email on a phone was a headache. When we wanted to take the key upon arrival we had to pay a R1500.00 deposit. It took me about two hours because there was no signal at Marlothpark, and the owner refused to let us get the key. We weren't home until 11.30pm after a long day's travel. The security drew the wrong address for us on the map, so we had to look for the place first, also at night. The house is close to the main entrance and there are people making noise around there throughout the night. Sorry about that, probably just me who is technologically disabled.
Some friends from overseas and I had a magical few days in Umvangazi in December. The house was spacious, clean, had aircon, full kitchen amenities which was perfect for our needs. The braai area and swimming pool was great too, and we got to see some wildlife drinking at the watering holes on the property. I would highly recommend this place to anyone, and really cannot wait to go back.
A definitely ideal place for family holidays. Well equipped with television for quieter occasions. Also ideal for visits to other attractions including the Kruger National Park.
Enjoyed the week of 16 to 23 December 2018 with my family at Umvangazi. First 3 days were about 42 degrees and thankful that there was air-con in all the rooms and a splash pool to cool off in. Nagapies came to visit us every evening and during the day the kudus, monkeys, zebras, warthogs and meerkats came for a visit. Inside the house, everything has been thought of to satisfy guests' needs. Would definitely recommend Umvangazi for a lovely bush holiday, as well as visiting again myself.
Our weekend at Umvangazi Rest was everything and more we expected. The house is beautifully located and very comfortable. We had visits from many animals on our front porch and had a great time in the pool and around the fire. We will definitely visit again. It was an incredible weekend for us.
We enjoyed our stay very much. I suspect the staff's accommodation is basically not far behind the house, because they played their music terribly loud every night. Since the house is also close to the one gate, you could hear the staff on duty also talking, they talk loudly.
It was fantastic to see the animals so close. The lodge met all our expectations. It's just a bit far from the Cape, otherwise we would definitely have been there more often.
Thank you very much for a lovely bush veld getaway! We received a visit from a bush baby, kudu and impalas every night around the fire. The kids (ages 8 to 15) went cycling early morning and had a great time. Will definitely come again. The house is fully equipped to ensure a comfortable getaway.
It's a very nice place to break away, but then you shouldn't use the upper part of the house at all, as it was terribly hot (42 degrees). Likewise downstairs in the living area. There is no air conditioning downstairs in the TV room and kitchen or in our sleeping area. At least the splash pool offered some fun. We had to clean the grill outside ourselves. It was still full of fat from a previous barbecue. The thin plank floors were really a problem, as was the furniture there. It was not soundproof at all. Everything cracked in the night and we couldn't get any sleep at all, let alone sleep. Definitely will not book this house again.
