Very nice, modern, neat and clean room which is very well equipped for the Free State's cold. Hostess and her family are incredibly friendly and make you feel at home immediately. The hostess's breakfast every morning was top notch. Room was cleaned every day. Really enjoyed the farm atmosphere with the animals and especially the tame kid that runs around there. Can highly recommend Verheugd Gastehuis.
Excellent place to spend the night in Reitz. Very neat and modern. Service from owners is excellent, friendly and makes you feel at home. Serve nice breakfast in the morning. Location is also beautiful and quiet with the open field around you.

This is one of our most delicious stays at a guest house/B&B. The peaceful farm atmosphere, view and wildlife made us feel so spoiled. The room was comfortable, with the warm blanket and heater on the wall we didn't feel the Reitz cold at all. The breakfast in the mornings was first class and really gave you enough energy for the whole day. The view in the dining area allows you to relax further and enjoy your meal. No effort was too much for our hostess and her warmth is reflected in everything.

After a day on the road, we arrived at the gem of a place. Everything was perfect from our arrival to our departure the next day. Quiet farm atmosphere and a good time in the kitchen by the fireplace, good for the soul. We will definitely stay here again, for a few days longer, if we travel that way again. The hostess and her husband make you feel as soon as you step in, you want to stay longer. Thank you guys!
Felt right at home and Yvonne went out of her way to make us feel at home. Everything was clean and tidy and what a delicious breakfast. Yvonne also surprised us with a delicious road food package on request. Will always stay there again if I need to stay overnight in Reitz area. 10/10.

Verheugd Gastehuis definitely stands out as one of the best guest houses! If you want to experience a peaceful farm feel in a very safe neighborhood, this is the place for you. The hostess and host's hospitality was excellent. The decor of rooms and the meals were of the highest quality and all this for a very good price! We will definitely stay there again.

Neat and clean overnight accommodation, on the outskirts of Reitz, with wildebeest roaming around. Secure covered parking. Hostess was very friendly and helpful. Breakfast was top notch. We stayed here during the VKB Bieliemieliefees, location was ideal as it is close enough and also close enough to the festival grounds that it doesn't feel like the festival is happening on your doorstep. PS: a fan in the room would come in quite handy, as well as maybe solar lights for when Eskom decides it's load shedding.

What a wonderful piece of gem. We had such a nice stay, one night was hopelessly too little. Next time we'll just make it a whole week. Yvonne is a wonderful person and hostess. Verheugd Gastehuis is an incredibly peaceful piece of heaven, and Yvonne makes so much effort to make you feel at home and her breakfast is delicious.
