The only downside is that there is no running water when there is load shedding. This will add value to purchasing a generator.
It is a very nice, neat guest house. The rooms are very nice and well equipped. Maybe consider putting in small emergency supplies for those of us who forgot toothpaste haha. And maybe small barrel milk pods for the coffee in the rooms instead. milk powder. But the people are very friendly and helpful, and the breakfast was very tasty. I would definitely stay there again in the future if we were to work there.
Was at a wedding and after that went to sleep on a nice bed with the aircon on. Can't ask for more. All the comforts you would have at home.

The room was comfortable and tidy, with the necessary to make coffee or tea. The reception was not very professional - we were there at 15:00, and the lady at reception then had to check if the room was ready - when she came back she gave the key and quickly showed where the room was. No further information was given. We were also surprised to find that, when the power is off, there is no water either. No warning given about this. They can feel free to market their coffee shop to guests and indicate what is available and when. After locating the leaflet - which was hidden in a drawer (and there wasn't much in it - just which channels are available on DStv and what the WiFi password is) we tried to connect to the WiFi, but the password was incorrect. More information about the town - e.g. whether there are restaurants that can be recommended would also help.

What a lovely place! Very welcoming and friendly hostess. We were delighted to find very clean and comfortable rooms at affordable rates.
Very disappointed with breakfast. Only the cook was there who had to handle everything. There was no explanation of the toast, I had to guess and help myself. Actually it was 4 of us that had to go through the process. We thought there was no toast. No jam. We then sit down and wait for coffee, because we were not told to help ourselves at all and the juice is pure water. I then got up and noticed the kettle in the corner that I had to cook myself. The food was ice cold and tasteless. For the reception and rooms that are so precise, the breakfast does not match at all.
We let the hostess, Petrie, know we were going to check in late. She was very accommodating and she gave us a delicious dinner. Neat, clean guesthouse in a tranquil setting with a friendly, competent hostess. The only thing that bothered, and it was personal preference, was the open plan toilet.
It was neat, clean and bitterly beautiful. I would stay there again anytime. We also received the most delicious breakfast and service. Definitely worth it.

Due to heavy weather that made the power go out and the electricity board is in the main building. There is nobody on site to switch the power back on and we did not want to call someone late in the night.
Very satisfied with Villa Mae Guest House. Warm welcoming, clean rooms. Breakfast was lovely. Would stay there again.
No windows (have to open sliding door for shower steam to escape, compromise privacy by having to do so). No air-con (it was advertised that there should be one). Poor lighting - only one switch for the whole room's lights, two dim lights in the bathroom area where there is also the only mirror. Only one electrical 'plug' - the microwave oven and only bedside lamp are plugged in here. If you want to use a hairdryer this is the place to plug it in but there is no mirror in the room. I just had to 'mirror' myself in the microwave oven's glass door. Only two hooks on the wall to hang your clothes on. The positive is that the staff is friendly, the bed linen was clean and we could sleep well, the breakfast was also tastefully served.
Thanks to the people at Villa Mae Guest House! The rooms are really beautiful, neat, private and very convenient. The breakfast was also delicious. We will definitely be back there.

The guest house is well situated for North West locations and staff are friendly and efficient.
Good service, but the breakfast is not included. The accommodation is reasonable although the bathroom needs some renovation. However, this is not a major problem, but can deteriorate quickly. It is still very good value for money with excellent service. Please note that breakfast is not included in the price and it is rather embarrassing if you only find out the next morning.
Villa Mae is my number 1 choice in the area.
