Very nice place. Everyone is friendly. Big developments are going to do a lot of damage to the village, although work is scarce the authorities should try to do it as little as possible.
The braai needs to be fixed.
Our stay was marvelous although during the winter season. Vinkie has all the facilities a small family would need and accommodated our little Maltese dog. Fireplace kept the lounge and kitchen area warm and cosy for us to enjoy quality time together.
Every night the ruckus continued until late, with bottles being broken and local bigger kids walking around with booze and swearing on stones in front of vinkie. Casserole and bowls in poor condition. No Wi-Fi. Outdoor braai in poor condition, two front bricks broken.
The cottage was very cute and the rooms and bathrooms comfortable enough. A mirror in the master bedroom would have helped. The bed was a bit uncomfortably hard. The kitchen was well equipped and the fireplace nice for the cool evenings. Unfortunately it leaks water when it rains. Because it is located close to the main beach and its bathrooms (which are not shown in the photos and are quite an eyesore), it is very busy around the house and there is noise around the house most of the day until late afternoon, especially from the permanent residents of the town and the people who use the bathrooms. The neighbors were very noisy and did not bother at all to the requests of the security to turn down their music at 11 o'clock at night. This despite notices that no noise or loud music may be played.
Not the best location, we were a little disappointed and did not feel very secure. It was in the first row of houses behind the "harbour", which seemed very popular amongst the younger generation with loud music playing from their cars in the evening and the bass vibrating our table.
The neighborhood watchmen have been patrolling, as much as they can, but still it is unsafe. There was always someone at the gate or a window who violated our privacy. I would have welcomed more salad bowls and a long mirror in the residence. It was very clean.
Very well maintained unit with all the amenities one needs.
Vinkie is very nice accommodation but I was put off by the crayfish vendors who were extremely demanding, to the point that my wife felt quite nervous. That was not very relaxing. A television in the bedroom would be an idea.
Very well appointed with everything you need for a weekend away. Stunning view and basically on the beach. But it is right above a public area / Saturday market - so quite noisy with lots of people that need to be watched, given the safet warnings. But otherwise nice and I can recommend it.
Will definitely consider staying at Vinkie again.

The accommodation was good, but the dishwasher did not work, and the oven was dirty inside. It also does not appear from the photos on the website that the "market" is located right in front of the cottage and blocks the sea view. There are also unfortunately unwanted street children who try to sell shells and lobsters at home as they hang around the market. If it wasn't for this, the lack of view wouldn't have mattered, but the lack of privacy was a bit of a problem. The house is conveniently close to the beach and tidy.

House rules
No check-ins or check-outs are offered on Christmas Day or New Year's Day.The balance of the booking is to be paid 3 days before arrival.
This unit may only accommodate the number of guests as specified on the booking invoice at any given time.
No loud music after 22:00.
No parties on the property, management reserves the right to evict tenants that do not adhere to this rule.
Kindly note that we do not have the authorization to do credit card payments on behalf of guests, we only accept EFT/Bank transfers.
A R 650.00 key- and breakage deposit is payable on arrival. It is refundable within 7-14 working days after the house has been inspected and all found in order. Keys will not be handed over under any circumstances without full payment received.
DStv can be activated at an additional cost per day.
There is a pet fee of R250 for up to 2 dogs per house. No more than 2 dogs at a time.
