We had such a nice stay. Lucinda, Milda and all the workers treated us wonderfully. My husband and I already want to go back.

Safety for vehicles is a problem as there is no secure parking.
No. The unit was dirty. Bedding should be replaced. That place lacks attention.

Security is my concern. No access control or remote gates. This is very daring in today's time of crime. Any person can enter premises unseen, especially at night. Location is generally good. Second, the unit did not smell fresh when we arrived and all the windows were closed. Efforts could be made to give you that relaxed welcome, as we had already confirmed all the accommodation in the morning. Finally, there are no Supersport rugby channels. Thanks again.

Very good place to stay.
The guest house is not located in an ideal area. The vehicle could be parked from the street, but not behind closed gates. Would recommend that gates be installed next to the guest house - this will also make residents feel safer, because currently anyone can walk into the guest house's yard from the street. Reception is not always open and is therefore not staffed full time. Coffee and tea facilities are provided in room, but there are no teaspoons available.
Room was full of dust. Nothing was dusted off. Shower was clogged. Reception was not friendly at all. Didn't even welcome us and didn't feel like we were on vacation. Have to pay for WiFi and no one informed us about breakfast also has to be paid even though it shows B&B. All who were friendly were the waiter Lumeri at the restaurant and restaurant staff.
What a terrible disappointment! We booked for 2 nights and only slept 1 night. We then had to find out that there is a bar above the guest house. Did not turn a blind eye to the noise and visited. There is no gate to keep guests' vehicles safe. All the unwanted elements then come through to the back of the guest house where the visit then takes place. Right next to the guests' stalls. I would recommend that you take the guest house off your list immediately. We have always booked through you and trust that these are places that are up to standard but this was just one big mess.
The staff cleans the rooms everyday and they are friendly and kind
Website mentions that each room has its own entrance and one can relax in the garden. Wasn't the case. We were squeezed into a corner of a corridor overlooking a set of flats. We had to park our vehicle in an open area with no security and I was so uneasy. Had to get up every hour to check if everything was still okay. The noise of people in the corridor was so disturbing that I hardly closed an eye that night.

Location of guest house ideal. Easy to find. Rooms were neat and amenities in room a plus.
Room was neat and clean. Disliked two single beds against each other. Sleep uncomfortably. Loadshedding one whole night until six o'clock next morning. No lamps or candles. Parking unsafe. Meal in restaurant was of excellent quality.
Although the room was not too bad, the rest was not standard. The old TV dates from Noah's ark. I see in another review that they would replace the TV's in the new year, but 5 months later they still didn't do it. The two single beds were not comfortable at all, even though they were covered with a sheet to hold them together. The one mattress was covered with some hard plastic and made noise when moving on it. There was only one geyser I could see to provide hot water to the rooms. It wasn't big enough and our last shower had to be cold. The mat in front of the shower was a black rubber carpet from a vehicle. The photos looked very nice, but we left with other impressions of the place. Will definitely not come back.

Had a great stay except for the people next to us who were knocking on doors at half past one looking for her boyfriend.
The linen is not white, but was clean. The room was quite big.
Very friendly and helpful people at VJ's. The room was neat and clean. Only problem was the Cocktail Bar's loud music that kept us awake on the Friday night.
Friendly staff, restaurant's food was good at affordable prices, also nice close to shops, TV needs upgrading and no bar fridge in the room, and the other guests were noisy throughout the night. They might just need to be stricter on it.
My daughter and I were booked in there. Unfortunately, the reception did not remind us that they had to book our breakfast for the next morning. After a long journey, rest is one's first priority and visitors can easily miss this arrangement. So we had to learn the next morning that we had not made any arrangements for breakfast and the restaurant could not help us with breakfast. I suggest that in the future visitors will be clearly informed about this arrangement when they check in at reception. The previous night's pizzas in the restaurant were excellent and can be recommended as the best in Uitenhage and Despatch.
Bathroom's flooring is dangerously slippery, especially if you get out of the shower with wet feet. The TV in our room did not work at all and that after the owner moved us proudly to his newer rooms that had bigger TV's. It was still a very small, old TV set. The area was quiet with secure parking. Wimpy is walking distance, just around the corner - VJ's are on Sundays. Rooms are dark - window overlooks other buildings. There was free WiFi that worked.
The following areas needs attention: Reception - I was just given a form to complete and given the keys to to our room. Had to find our way and no other information shared. I was a bit concerned about our safety. No gate or security to the parking area. I requested a double bed and not two single beds put side by side. Bedside lamps would be preferred instead of florescent light on headboard. Television outdated.
I personally like quietness, privacy, cleanliness and location. The food is also excellent and the prices good. VJs have it all. However, vehicles park in open parking areas without a security guard. VJ's will be my permanent overnight stay in Uitenhage and surroundings in the future. I highly recommend them.
