Will definitely stay at Vrede & Vreugde if ever we have reason to be in Ceres in the future. The reason for our visit to Ceres was to run the Ceres Michell's Pass Half-marathon on Saturday, 28th October. Our hosts were most gracious and accommodating. I had mistakenly thought that we could take occupation from 14:00 and therefore arrived at about 14:30 on Friday afternoon. Our host kindly allowed us to settle in even though we were well ahead of the published occupation time of 16:00. Furthermore, on arrival and without even having to ask, our host advised that we would not have to vacate by 10:00, so that I could enjoy a relaxing shower and freshen up after the run. To my dismay, when I got back home at about 13:30 on Saturday, I realised that I had left my running shoes in the room; I immediately phoned our host, who very kindly agreed to arrange for my shoes to be returned to me. Nothing was too much to ask. As to the accommodation itself, it was very well appointed - plenty of cupboard space, a very comfortable bed, clean and neat bathroom with an excellent shower, and perfectly adequate self-catering kitchen facilities. Our hosts also generously provided snacks, rusks, coffee, croissants, and breakfast cereal, smoothies, and more, for our comfort, at no extra cost. All in all, a very pleasant stay with gracious hosts.

The name says it all: Peace & Joy. One experiences the warmth, joy and peace of the place. Maria made us feel at home right on arrival with her beautiful personality. Maria, thank you for letting us stay in your cute little place, sleeping nice and warm and cuddly, not to mention the incredible pampering snacks - we didn't expect it - 10 stars. We will stay there again.

The room was very small. Space was limited.

The room was clean, the surrounding area is very safe, and it's near all amenities, I would definitely use it again when I come for another squash tournament. We did not make use of the entire space, as it is attached to the house but the room was as per the pictures. We struggled with the Wi-Fi but I believe in having backup so I had data. All in all a nice, small, cosy space.

It's supposed to be a B&B and as they say on the email a variety of porridges there were only 4 cubes of weetbix and 2 small packets of meusli, there was also yogurt and fruit, but in my eyes you can't have 4 cubes of weetbix for 2 people don't give for a whole weekend, that's not a B&B, in your advertisement it is also said that there are cleaning services between 11 and 15:00. They didn't make the bed, just pulled out and didn't even wash and wipe the dishes and didn't even put clean towels back in, had to wash the dishes ourselves, there wasn't even soap to wash you with, we had to use our own soap and going to buy towels. On Sunday we threw those dirty towels in the shower after which they put them back on the arrangement. Their vehicles were parked under the canopy and our vehicle was parked in the rain. It rained so terribly that our vehicle was rained through, don't put your guests first, because there was a garage where they could park their vehicles as well.

I asked for accommodation for two people, but when you get there it is only booked for one person. Asked for two single beds but was only given a double bed.

We stayed overnight at Vrede & Vreugde on our way from Sutherland to Paternoster on our "sluer tour" through the Northern Cape and a bit of the Western Cape. Our host was friendly and Vrede & Vreugde met our need, namely to spend the night.

Good, safe stay. Fruit, cold water, milk etc. made you feel very welcome. Good light in room for working on computer, a table to work on was immediately provided. Fan in room worked well on an evening where the daytime temperature was 37 degrees. Bathroom has everything needed, with comfortable shower and mirror above the sink in which I, short guy, could also see. Fridge, microwave, "zinc" and enough plates etc.
