Bed was broken, light bulbs were out, for 4 guests only 2 towels and 2 cups and 2 pillows. Curtains absolutely battered. Coffee marks still on bedside table. WiFi didn't work and staff don't know anything to help.
Persian as advertised.
Extreme dampness and even visible mould in the room. Bath tub damaged, not thouroughly cleaned at outlet and metal parts. No hot water. Water merely lukewarm in the middle of winter. TV remote not working. Buttons used up and not easily readable. No windows to open for ventilation, or a view of the outside. No natural sunlight or ventilation of fresh air. Room in need of major general maintanance (tiles and grouting).
The bathroom window could not close. Duvet cover was torn. Stovetops were dirty. Peel off paint on walls. Drawer with cutlery was dirty. Mattress not up to standard.
Staff were very helpful and friendly. Everything was nice and tidy.

A few disturbing noises in room 3. Suspect it was the fridge or water pipes that kept us awake a bit.
2 days stay. The staff was 10/10. Food from B&B was 10/10. Bathroom large 10/10. Unfortunately, the self-catering unit (Room 5&6) was impractical and no cutlery or pot or pan, the 2-plate stove is also located in such a way that you can almost sit on your bed and cook, also no small table where you can even sit and eat, but at least there were places to eat in the area which made it easier. The bathroom was very spacious, only unfortunately when we wanted to use the bath/whirlpool, the pipes had unfortunately not been cleaned for a long time, leaving us to take a shower instead. There was an air conditioner in Room 5 but unfortunately it condensed terribly and even though we reported it it was unfortunately not fixed and therefore just left. Furthermore, the area is very peaceful and a calm atmosphere has been created.
I would really recommend that Waterkloof Guesthouse do a makeover with all the rooms' interior decoration. The curtains, linen and accessories are very out of fashion and look cheap. It does not fit the good service, garden and building at all. The mirror on one of the bedside cabinets in our room 18 was just loosely placed on the bedside table and fell on my daughter's head as she tried to move the table to get to the power plug. At R1350 for a double room per night it is not up to standard, sorry.
