Wheatland's Farm House and Chalets is self-catering accommodation located on a working sheep farm, a mere 40 km from Mossel Bay. Accommodation is available in the 8-10-sleeper Farm House or 4 cottages able to accommodate 2 adults and 2 children each.
The Farm House has 3 bedrooms, 2 bathrooms and a separate flat. The main bedroom has a king-size bed and an en-suite bathroom fitted with a bath, shower, basin, and toilet. The other 2 bedrooms have 2 three-quarter beds each. The second bathroom is fitted with a bath, shower, basin and toilet. There is an additional double sleeper couch in the sunroom for 2 extra guests, preferably children.
The separate flat has a queen-size bed and an en-suite bathroom fitted with a bath, shower, basin and toilet.
Fans for the hot summer days and heaters for cold winters are available.
The well-equipped kitchen consists of an electric oven, 4-plate stove, microwave, dishwasher, fridge-freezer, crockery and cutlery for 10 people. Iron and ironing board available. Wheatlands Farm House also offers an outside braai and ample outside parking.
The 4 chalets on the farm are adjacent to one of the game camps. It is built out of corrugated iron and part of steel frame shelves. Wheatland's chalets are all equipped for 4 people, preferably 2 adults and 2 children.

31 guests' feedbackWe had a lovely relaxing stay at Wheatlands. We were able to walk, cycle, and enjoy the farm, as well as make the most of the close proximity to the beach and the river.
Wheatland's exceeded all our expectations. The chalets are beautiful and comfortable and the owner has furnished them with taste and attention to the smallest details for travelers. The location is wonderful - vast open field from the porch in front of the house where the springbok graze. It is quiet, peaceful and blissful. The river is a five minute drive from the chalets or a 30 minute easy walk. Here you can swim, fish or enjoy a cocktail. Gouritzmond is a 15-minute drive away, and then bigger towns like Stilbaai and Mosselbaai are nearby - but once on Wheatland's, we didn't want to go anywhere else. Great location and accommodation.
The chalets are on a commercial farm near a tarmac road, but stretches of dirt road are unavoidable.
Is a stunning place to stay, the accommodation has all you need, well located to neighboring towns and resorts. Our host Colleen is amazing and has added so many extras in the chalets when in need. Is a definite place to visit.
We had a very nice stay. There were board games which was a cool initiative. There was no TV or WiFi. There were catches, but not the best. The host was friendly and helpful and the house was tidy with a nice environment around you.
It was a very nice break for us. The fact that there is no TV was no problem. The owner is very friendly and is very helpful if you ask. Will stay there again.
The chalet was well furnished, clean and tidy. We also appreciated Colleen's chat and friendliness. Would maybe just like an aircon for the hot stay at home days and if Eskom starts their load shedding then the unit has no water (maybe something to resolve for the new year) but otherwise it was very nice and I will definitely go again.

The units are built in such a way that one is very private with a nice braai. . The unit was particularly neat and clean. I would definitely use Wheatland's Chalets again. What was also special was the wildlife - young springboks playing and rabbits at dusk. The night sounds (night owls and Cape eagle owl) were special.
We stayed 5 lovely nights and was sorry to leave this most tranquil spot. Colleen’s passion and hospitality for her guests are unmatched, she made everything easy and extra special. The cottages are incredibly well equipped with everything you would need and more. Effortless, simple layout and tasteful interiors. Sitting on the little stoep by the fire at night overlooking the springbok, alpaca and other wildlife was certainly the highlight. We’ll be back yearly.
If you want to get away from everyone and everything, this is the right place for you. We had a great time and enjoyed it very much. We will definitely go again.

We had a nice jog and were able to swim in the river. Nice for a group to visit together, close to Gouritz and Vleesbaai.
We received very good advance directions but unfortunately did not read thoroughly enough! As a result, we initially struggled to gain access, but after that everything was extremely easy. The facilities still look relatively new, and the layout of the rooms is spacious and done with good taste. The kitchen equipment was more than adequate. It was particularly pleasant to be able to sit outside and watch the springboks, blue cranes and other animals in the distance. The view to the Gouritz is also particularly beautiful. It was truly a pleasant stay.

Everything was clean and tidy.
During our stay we enjoyed jogging on the farm. We were able to reach the river by car, and we made use of the shaded area set up for the fisherman. The river was ideal for a swim. Gouritz is a very quiet seaside town, but still worth a visit.
Colleen was excellent and service was very good. Good value for money.
The chalets are nice and private and excellently equipped! There is plenty of room for children to play.
We had a wonderful stay in this very neat unit - more than adequate for us and our two children aged 21 and 16. Shade trees would be nice especially in the summer months. We also felt that the provision of certain basic necessities such as toilet paper, black garbage bags and hand soap should be provided and/or supplemented.
We stayed in one of the chalets. Clean and tidy, safe, quiet and beautiful view. We will definitely visit there again.
Fantastic, friendly service received from Colleen from booking to arriving to departing. She was very accommodating as I asked for an earlier check in as we came from Cape Town to attend a wedding. The chalet was very upmarket and stunning and I would definitely book here again and recommend it to everyone! The farm itself is surrounded by eland, springbok, zebra and sheep.
Definitely just what we needed for a quick in and out visit. Unfortunately didn't really have time to relax, but would recommend my guests to come here for a rest.
Thank you very much Coleen for your kindness good service. The place was very clean and tidy. The grass in front of the house was also very nice for the client to play on. The Springbok and Zebra that are on your porch early in the morning and late at night were very beautiful. I can honestly say nothing negative was very happy. If I may advise maybe consider getting a TV with a few channels and maybe in the future a small sink.
Although we did not meet Colleen, her friendly approachability per cell was very noticeable. My wife and I would like to say thank you that we were allowed to spend two days in the rural environment under very pleasant conditions: high-quality accommodation!
