House rules

Please note that White Sparrow is not a party house. We cater to guests seeking a peaceful and quiet retreat, surrounded by nature. As such, we kindly ask that you maintain a calm atmosphere throughout your stay.

Marloth Park is a unique, registered wildlife conservancy, with strict rules in place to protect both the environment and the peace of our community. No loud noises, including music, are allowed. Noise tends to travel farther in the bush than in urban areas, so please be considerate of your neighbours. Please keep noise levels to a minimum at all times, especially after dark as this rule is strictly enforced from 6:00 PM onwards by the Marloth Park Law Enforcement Officers.


Please leave the house in a clean state when you check out. Kindly wash your dishes, dispose of any trash, and return furniture or items to their original positions.


Always ensure that all windows and doors are properly closed and locked, especially if they are not within your direct line of sight. This is a safety measure to help protect both you and your belongings.


Baboons are clever and persistent house-breakers. If you leave the property, make sure all windows, doors, and security doors are securely closed and locked. While baboons are a common concern, this is good practice for your overall safety. As a general rule, exercise the same safety and awareness you would in any city, even though we are in the bush.


Marloth Park is home to some dangerous snakes. Always be vigilant when walking under trees, entering or exiting the property, or getting in and out of your vehicle. An emergency contact list for snake removal services is available on the fridge. Your safety is our priority—please take care and stay alert.


Guests are responsible for supervising their children at all times, both inside the property and outside. The surrounding bush is home to a variety of wildlife, and some animals can be dangerous. Always ensure children are within sight and safe.
