29 guests' feedbackWild Clover Cottages are perfect for a peaceful getaway and are within close proximity to top-class vineyards.
We had a wonderful stay, sat on the veranda and watched the animals, grilled meat. Beautiful sunset. Just be aware that the units are stuck together, it may feel like your neighbors are listening to you.
The rustic atmosphere on a farm. Quiet. Lovely cottage bordering on a Nature reserve. Good W-iFi.
We were in town for a wedding (Stellies is a relatively beautiful part of the world) and booked a stay at Wild Clover Cottages. Being a small establishment on a farm, we were happily surprised that it came up on Uber, which made the car trip from the airport straightforward. We did have power issues, due to cable theft in the area, but Jacques kept us updated on this and power was eventually restored. The photos are accurate but certainly don't show the farm on the other side of the cottages. Overall I think you get what you pay for. It was cosy, clean, and quiet. We did have some late-night drinks with a herd of springboks and woke up to zebras and that's always something special about Africa.
Nice stay. Very nice location. Great view of Table Mountain and wild animals at sunset.
Lots of potential, but needs some attention.
No water. No electricity with extra light for loadshedding. No gas and the braai area was really dirty. No braai grid.
The view over the pond with all the wildlife was really very beautiful. We will definitely stay here again as soon as we are in the area.
Thanks for a lovely stay. We would definitely consider going back if in the area again.
Self-catering is nice, but for an outdoor barbecue there should be barbecue tongs for the wood and meat. The doors to the porch closed with difficulty and we had to enter one to exit the other. We almost left it open because we were in a hurry. But we just kept trying. No scissors. Only one sharp knife. These are some small things that I will pay attention to to make it more comfortable for guests coming from far away. We had to borrow salt from the restaurant. There is no shop nearby so if you don't take your own salt, scissors and sharp knives you can't take full advantage of the outdoor barbecue, which was the highlight of Heritage Day. Guests may be forewarned of load shedding and it may be suggested that they provide their own lights. The one in the kitchen was too little. Other than that it was delicious. Quiet. Restful.
When we returned after being out for the day on Saturday, our towels had been removed and were never replaced.
We had a very nice stay. Any comments are that the units may need a little pop rating and that the WiFi is very bad. There is hardly any signal. It is indeed on a farm and one understands that. But it was advertised that there was WiFi.
Could walk and sit comfortably in the back.
Lovely peaceful quiet getaway, where you can just sit on the porch and stare at nature and the beautiful wild animals. Sunsets are beautiful. If you suffer from a hectic busy life and are just looking for some calm, Wild Clover is definitely a very good choice.
Lovely accommodation - self-catering facilities are large and adequate. Comfortable, spacious accommodation. Wonderful view of pond inside a game camp where the animals gave great pleasure. Staff were very friendly and helpful. Because of this nice place to stay we stayed an additional day. Really value for money. Excellent location. Efforts have also been made with the safety of guests.
The only thing we would have liked differently were the braai facilities. The stoep is lovely and you definitely want to hang out outside, but the braai facilities are not up to standard. There were no braai tongs for indoor or outdoor use, nor a braai bowl. The tv didn't work either but luckily it didn't bother us. The rest of the amenities were fantastic.
Not worth the money. Bedding and towels need attention. Can't open anything, too many nests and bees.
Not very satisfied. The sheets and towels really need attention, torn and full of stains, luckily I had my own towels. Can be brought to the owner's attention. Couldn't open any window because of wasp nests and bees flying around. Definitely not good for someone allergic to bees. There was an alarm system, but no burglar alarm. Fridge hopelessly too small for someone who wants to stay longer than two days. No one was available after hours. Will consider if I go again long term. Enjoyed the restaurant and other activities.
We received a phone-call in the morning asking our time of arrival, because the office closes at 16:00. This was not communicated to us when booking. So other arrangements had to be made. Then the plug of the one bedlamp was broken, we had to phone them to come and repair. One of the cups had a big chip and that was not a recent one. We would think that for this amount per night, these things will all be in good order. The view onto the animals is amazing. Loved that and also the safety.
Beautiful view and peaceful atmosphere. Very well located. Farm atmosphere. Restaurants are just not reasonably available after 17h00. I will definitely be coming again and would recommend Wild Clover to anyone anytime.
We definitely did not get value for money with this booking. The unit was very small and the furniture old and tired, the pictures advertised definitely gave a better impression. We stayed over for 2 nights and during that time we had no contact with anyone from the establishment, the key was only left in the unit's door and furthermore no one made contact once just to hear if everything was OK. The DStv had no signal and I let Prutty (the manager) know right after we arrived, but I never received any feedback from her and no attempt was made to fix it. There were severe steam spots on the wall where paint was starting to peel and peel and mold spots in the windowsill by the kitchen, as well as a tangle of wires behind the television. The grill was dirty and the tongs had also seen better days. The one advantage of Wild Clover is that it is very centrally located to explore the Stellenbosch and Klapmuts area. We go quite often and don't really find fault, but we were sadly disappointed with our visit to Wild Clover.
It is an excellent place to overnight, away from the city's noise, but close to business appointments. Pretty view and convenient.
Security in cottages can be improved. The house was clean, but it still needs some finesse.
The unit was not very clean, there were coffee stains on the sheet covers, the TV unit did not work. For the price, at least there could be decent coffee.
We loved the place and service, the only thing to improve would be the soundproofing of the bedroom on the street at it can me quite loud. Trains indeed are quite frequent and slightly squeaky but we quickly got used to it. Our kids had great fun playing in the natural rock pool and on the rocks down the apartment when the beach was too windy. We recommend!
Generally pleasant stay with good location and relatively neat and clean facilities. Unfortunately we experienced a water problem as well as hot water problems.
