We had a wonderful stay and the cottage has everything you might need. The fireplace was a bonus because when we were there it was extremely cold!
We had a very nice stay.
One of the best places we have ever stayed. Cottage house extremely comfortable and incredible view of the Great Black Mountains.
Our visit was perfect. The field was full of flowers. Picture beautiful sunrises and sunsets. We saw a rainbow in the Karoo. The cottage is cozy with everything you could possibly need. Can recommend the delicious braai buns and Karoo lamb, it was delicious. Friendly, helpful hostess. Will come again for sure.
Beautiful peaceful place, enjoyed it so much. Just a pity we could only stay 1 night, but will definitely go again.
Fantastic and delicious Karoo!
The campsite is far away from the rest of the guest houses, so it is very quiet and the stars are incredibly bright. True rest for the soul. The bathroom, braai room and lapa have everything needed and more. Next time we'll just stay for a week.
Very beautiful, quiet, nice.
It was a lovely visit and very well equipped unit.
What a pity we could only stay over for one night. Will especially choose next time not only as a place to stay, but rather a weekend place. Beautiful accommodation that is very private, surrounded by beautiful Karoo.
Nice stay. Real Karoo farm. Neat and comfortable accommodation. Everything you need is there.
We stayed two nights. It had been a wonderful experience. The facilities had been some of the best. It is quiet and peaceful with beautiful sunsets. It's also close to town. We would love to stay there again and then for a longer time.
Our stay in Soetdoring on Wolwekraal was a wonderful experience, from the cleanliness, facilities, tranquility and including the tasty meat package.
Wolvekraal is always a favorite for a weekend getaway. Highly recommended if you want to experience the lovely Karoo.
What a cute place. Quiet and peaceful.
No, everything we could ask for and more. For me it was the Karoo as I could best hope to experience it.
If you want to get away from the city noise, this is just the place for you. Come and experience the beauty and tranquility of the Karoo.
Had a lovely stay. Unit was equipped with everything one needs. We really enjoyed the silence with the view over the field and the Swartberge.
It was a great, peaceful and tidy stay in the Karoo. I would stay there again, maybe just a day or more longer next time.
We will definitely see Wolvekraal again. The remote Karoo peace and tranquility was heavenly.
A truly lovely farm break that was also close enough for us to attend the Prince Albert Reading Festival (about a 10-15 minute drive into town). The silence was incredible, the stars breathtaking. Nice place to walk and great time around the braai. Our cottage was very comfortable and tidy with everything you need - the fireplace was very welcome. Had a great sleep. Thank you, we will come again.
Yes, it was special on the farm. Everything was very neat and clean.
Very good value for money. Nice walk. Definitely recommend.
It's a piece of heaven on earth, you find yourself in the silence. In the evenings it is a chandelier of. Thank you Wolwekraal, we'll see you again.
Very nice stay. Very friendly host and wife!
Really enjoyed the stay. Really the perfect place if you want to get away from the busy life and just enjoy God's presence in nature. For booking purposes, it would be nice if I had a bird's-eye-view of the layout of the cottages.
Prince Albert, the town, was a pleasant place to visit and all the residents are friendly and helpful. Wolvekraal is a very fantastic farm visit for us, super clean, comfortable, friendly host and hostess. Definitely go there again for a getaway.
Comfortable, modern, and has everything you need. Perfectly spaced cottages on the farm. I'm sure we will be back.
Nice break from the hectic city life. A cute, equipped house with everything needed.
We had a very nice stay. Neat and everything you need for an overnight stay. Lovely braai area. Would recommend it.
Perfect for nature lovers wanting a Karoo farm experience, Wolwekraal was perfect in clean and charming accommodations with access to walking on the farm.
Tranquility of the Karoo with openness of the starry sky, night sounds, crackling fire, friendly welcome and stunning, tidy cottage.
Prince Albert was a pleasant place to visit, Wolvekraal was a very special farm visit, super clean, comfortable, friendly host and hostess. Definitely go again.
The unit was very neat and the tranquility of the surroundings met all our requirements. It's close enough to the town to go to the shop quickly if you have to, but close enough to experience the Karoo, from the veld to the stars. Will definitely go there again and hopefully for longer next time.
Absolutely love silence. Would go again anytime.
Berlinda gave us a warm welcome. The house is picture perfect. Very neat and clean. The bedding is clean and tidy. Enough wood for braai and the fireplace. The starry sky had been very beautiful and dark. We definitely recommend Wolwekraal guest house. We would love to come again and stay longer.
We will definitely go again. Belinda and André are very friendly and helpful. Everything is clean and Rekkies, you are a dear and beautiful dog.
We had a wonderful family stay at Wolwekraal Guest Farm in the beautiful Karoo, a must-stay if you are in the area. The peaceful atmosphere, cosy, clean, comfortable cottage, magic sunsets, and magnificent night sky made it a truly special and memorable family weekend. We can't wait to visit again.
Three things struck us: 1. The absolute silence. 2. The wonderful stars. 3. The open spaces. I can recommend it to someone whose soul needs to catch up due to a hectic life!
The house is very neat and well equipped. Would recommend Wolvekraal for sure.
Cottage has everything you need and was very tidy.
Friendly welcome. House very neat. When we arrived, the braai wood was already packed, we could only light it. Quiet and peaceful. Can definitely recommend. It's a few kilometers out of town, but not too far at all. Will book there again anytime.
I will definitely want to stay here again and again and again! Vygiebos Cottage was perfect. Peace of mind Stars. Calmness. Nice close to town for essentials. Best service, great people. Can't wait to go again! Thank you guys!
Friendly reception with a peaceful environment and the most beautiful starry sky in the Karoo evening. Would definitely recommend it if you want to spend the night in that area.
Most beautiful view and sunset over the Karoo. Cottage well furnished - even razor sharp vegetable knives.
Everything we wanted.
This place is amazing, we will definitely be back!
We stayed at Wolvekraal for 3 nights. We were warmly received. The cottage had all the necessities and more. The fireplace, tranquility and beautiful view of the mountains was a treat. Just a stone's throw from Prince Albert, perfect accommodation for those looking to explore the surrounding area.
Peace and quiet. Close to Prince Albert.
We were upgraded to Olienhout cottage. It was lovely. Beautiful Karoo scenery. The cottage was clean and very comfortable. We will be back.
To quickly sum it up: That double bed is horrible to sleep on, it is rock hard and makes a terrible noise when one turns over. The faucets in the bathroom are very close to the sink and difficult to use. The shower's soap holder is not properly waxed, if you just bump it, it falls off. Compared to other places we've been to at home, it's expensive. No internet, or radio or TV. Coffee and milk very scarce. Very pleasant surroundings, nice and quiet at night. There was also no fireplace wood in the room as advertised. Otherwise quite ok. Might have to look at better rates for pensioners, will attract a lot more people.
Free-standing cottage with its own lapa, braai.
We enjoyed the stay very much. The house is very neat and has everything you need. Berlinda is an excellent hostess and was very friendly and helpful. We will definitely visit there again.
Always nice. The most beautiful scenery, the most beautiful accommodation, the most delicious lamb chops and a warm welcome. Always wish we could stay longer than just overnight.
Happy with our choice.
This is now the third or fourth time I have stayed here. Just as clean and peaceful as before. Everything you need is here. I recommend Wolvekraal as accommodation, you won't regret it.
What a wonderful experience of the Karoo, one can relax better in such comfortable accommodation and enjoy so much hospitality.
Nice and quiet, away from the feeling. Most beautiful environment, simple, yet neat. Lacked absolutely nothing, except maybe a day or two's longer stay.
Would absolutely recommend Wolvekraal Guest Farm. Was our second time at Berlinda and André and will definitely go again. The Karoo silence is food for the soul and that is exactly what we want to experience. Nothing more beautiful than the sunrise and sunset in the Karoo.
Wolwekraal is the best of both worlds. Here you can enjoy the silence of nature and breathtaking sunsets from your porch, with Prince Albert only a few minutes' drive away. Olienkraal is a lovely unit with everything you need, and Berlinda is a very thoughtful hostess.
Owners were delightful. My husband could cycle in peace, while I birded on the 4000-ha farm.
Beautiful house, lovely fireplace, nice outdoor boma, wide, open plains, soulful accommodation, real farm experience.
We don't really have words to describe Wolvekraal Guest Farm! Everything, but everything was great - the reception, the silence, the clean air and then the stellar spectacle that you can only sit and watch. Berlinda did everything to make our stay as pleasant as possible. The fireplace in the chalet was a bonus on the cold evenings. The chalet is equipped with everything and as a bonus, wood is also provided for a nice braai outside and for the fireplace inside. We only stayed two nights, but it was too short. Such accommodation is highly recommendable and for sure we will stay there again - this time at least for three nights.
We enjoyed the tranquility and scenery, most beautiful accommodation cottage and the fireplace was a bonus.
Stay in nature away from the hustle and bustle of the town, wonderful relaxation.
Truly rest for your soul and the view over the Swartberge is breathtaking. Go for a nice walk and just take in the beauty of nature. Fantastic getaway, will visit again for sure.
Very neat and comfortable. We were kindly received and will visit there again.
The cottage was lovely and comfortable. Close to Prince Albert, but we were very happy that it was out of town. The silence was wonderful!
Had a wonderful stay. Accommodation is comfortable and well appointed. Cottages far from each other, so enough privacy. Quiet, plenty of space to walk or cycle safely. Beautiful stars! Prince Albert 20 min away with delicious places to eat etc.
Everything was perfect, beautiful place with beautiful surroundings.
Had a wonderful stay at Wolverkraal Guest Farm, beautiful scenery and lovely chalet. We didn't need anything that wasn't thought of.
My 19-year-old twin daughters and I had such a good time, blissful rest away from the hustle and bustle of the Cape.
We had a very nice stay. The cottage was spacious, neat and clean. We had a great barbecue under the Karoo's starry sky. Our hosts were very friendly and helpful. Will visit Wolvekraal again anytime.
Could rest and walk and sit for hours in the lapa around a fire.
Nice lapa for personal braai fire, kitchen well equipped. Quiet in the beautiful nature. Well a lot of flies, understandable on a sheep farm.
Stargazing is the best, view of the Black Mountains.
Quiet farm atmosphere, the most beautiful sunsets, safe and tidy place to stay.
Went for a walk on the farm in the late afternoon, to walls on an adjacent farm.
Had a great time in Prince Albert. Lots to do and see.
Security can improve.
What a wonderful location looking across to the Swartberg. Lovely cottage, full of character with all you need for a comfortable stay. Highly recommended!
Nice close to Prince Albert. Walking routes and accommodation first class. As Arnold Schwarzenegger would say: "I'll be back".
Freedom and privacy.
The owner is extremely hospitable and helpful. Cottage beautifully furnished - comfortable, spacious, neat and clean with a fantastic shower (gas). The boma is great for nice barbecues and long visits. The nights are pitch black, which accentuates the twinkling stars even more. Silence and soul dust are the watchwords. Nice hiking trails to clear your head. We as SA'ers have to support our drought-stricken farmers who have lost their overseas customers in these difficult times. It breaks one's heart to see how they make desperate efforts in all kinds of creative ways for the sake of survival (also for their workers and animals). In any case, farm accommodation remains king!
Cute little house among all the stars of the Karoo.
We enjoyed it a lot. Will definitely stay there again. Wanted for nothing. It was good.
Loved the silence!
We enjoyed the stay very much. The house is very neat and practical. Wonderful rest and peace with the beautiful starry sky at night.
The house was neat and well equipped. Would definitely stay there again!
Our little house had so many little extras in it, wow! We were very impressed and had a great stay. The fireplace is also very effective. Each bed had a hot water bag, extra bird food, mosquito repellent, insect repellent, fresh milk in the fridge, etc. The children also loved the lambs. Thank you very much.
Berlinda, what a beautiful place you have. Roger and I couldn't have ended our weekend on a better note than spending the night at your place. The Karoo crawled right into our hearts and wrapped her arms around us. Your place is so beautiful, clean, peaceful and the decor is absolutely beautiful. We will definitely want to visit again and absolutely recommend you to anyone who wants to experience the Karoo silence and beauty. See you again soon!
We were so impressed with the house, the attention to detail and cleanliness. Thank you for giving us a wonderful stay.
It's a beautiful place on a farm with everything you need.
Berlinda is a good hostess. Everything is neat and clean.
The place is peaceful and beautiful.
Should have stayed longer, one night wasn't enough to take in the beauty.
Attentive hostess.
The house is beautiful, cozy and warm. The view is incredible and it feels like you can almost touch the stars. The silence was so good for the soul. Only thing missing in the house is a nice sharp knife for the kitchen.
The house is well equipped and comfortable. It is very peaceful and private and I will certainly use Wolwekraal again.
Definitely a good place to relax a bit and disconnect for a few days!
Nice braai area and comfortable accommodation.
Armchair upholstery was dirty. Exterior doors do not close tightly. Cockroaches in the kitchen.
Clear skies for stargazing. Nice stay on the farm.
Neatly equipped and very beautiful with a 5 star Karoo atmosphere.
If you are looking for tranquility to switch off a bit then I would highly recommend this destination! Beautiful landscape, cute well appointed cottage, log fire in the evening, paths for walking/jogging/cycling, friendly and prompt customer service - what more are you looking for when you want to get away and relax for a few days?
Peaceful karoo farm - rest for your soul.
Although there is no WiFi, there is a strong mobile phone signal.
We were in Soetdoring Huisie, which is highly recommended. Everything inside and out was neat and clean, and the cottage is well equipped with everything you need - e.g. kettle, fridge, freezer, microwave, toaster, even a lovely fireplace! The bed (mattress and pillows) was wonderfully comfortable and warm, with good bedding and towels. Lovely hot shower with strong pressure. The cottage is very tight which kept the howling wind outside. There is also a carport for parking and a nice outdoor braai (boma). It's private from the main house and other cottages, and you can go for long walks. We also took our two dogs along which they really enjoyed. 10 out of 10!
It was our first time at Wolvekraal and we intend to stay here again in the future and especially in Vygiebos. Everything was clean and tidy and the chalet was very well furnished and very nice and private. The silence and openness was heavenly and the stars in the evening something to behold. We had a delicious meal of the Karoo lamb chops and braai bread. The best.
So rustig en stil, hoendersop vir die siel. Goed dat daar nie 'n TV is nie. Sal graag weer wil teruggaan.
Wow, thank you so much for a lovely few days we were able to spend at Wolvekraal. The chalet (Vygiebos) is very spacious and nicely equipped! If you are looking for quiet and open spaces with a beautiful view of the Groot Swartberge, Wolvekraal is exactly where you want to be. The hospitality and kindness of Berlinda and Andre makes you feel at home immediately! Where does one vote for "Best Farmstay of 2020"? Go experience it yourself if you don't believe me - Believe me free!
We spent the night at Wolvekraal on our way to Addo Elephant Park. It was wonderful to sit and braai in the evening under the beautiful starry sky. The cottages are very well-equipped with everything one needs. It gets nice and warm and luckily there was a fan in the house that we could leave overnight to cool us down. For the people who love the Karoo, it is a great place to rest and get away from the hustle and bustle of the city.
Really enjoyed it, would recommend it.
Worthwhile destination.
A wonderful Karoo stay. Nice to go for a walk and see all the stars
Wolwekraal Guest Farm is definitely a Karoo experience. The unit is unique, neat and clean. Take a look at the stars in the evening. It really is something to see. If you want to get away from the city noise, this is the place for you.
It was a nice visit and close enough to Prince Albert to also be able to explore the town.
It was so nice to switch off at Wolwekraal and enjoy the deafening silence! The Aunt makes the most delicious braai breads!
We had a great time, the unit was well appointed and the food we pre-ordered was delicious. Berlinda is really hospitable and passed on good information.
Friendly reception. Stunning house with everything you need. Highly recommended.
A lovely interesting location, with all you would need to stay for a day or two. Perfect hide out with fantastic views and walk or hiking opportunities. Most of all the perfect peace in a safe environment. Thank you for creating this little gem in the middle of nowhere!
Everything is great at Wolvekraal! Fantastic timber, location, facilities and view over the plains and sheep lambs. Owners are very helpful and welcoming.
It was fantastic! As a family we had space, time to be together, walk and feed lambs. The night was full of stars and I was quite upset to hear cars again the next night at our next stop in another town. Everything in the house, even champagne glasses!
This guest farm is a very comfortable overnight stay for travelers. The surroundings are quiet and peaceful with a few sheep adding to the farm atmosphere. Everything you need is there and more. Everything was very neat and clean. The owner is very friendly and helpful. I will recommend this place to all my friends.
This was one of our nicest overnight stays. The lovely fireplace in the evenings, the outdoor lapa for braai. Wonderful view of the Black Mountains and the most beautiful sunsets and starry sky. With the beautiful, practical units. Best Karoo experience!
Wow! Of the 4 nights sleeping out so far, this one was the most spectacular. The cottage was really well finished off with attention to detail. The view from the windpump was out of this world and was really comfortable. I even saw a meerkat pass by the door in the late afternoon. Woken by the sheep the next morning. Excellent value for money, I can highly recommend Wolwekraal Guest Farm.
Wolvekraal is beautifully situated near the Swartberg Pass. We were warmly and kindly received. The accommodation is neat and private and each home's large braai area invites you to spend long evenings under a starry sky. We would highly recommend Wolvekraal.
Most beautiful and tasteful cottage with mountain views. Well equipped with everything needed. Plenty of room to ride a mountain bike. Lapa beautiful and moon / stars and sunrise brilliant. You feel and live close to nature and open space is an experience and you once again realise how dry the Karoo is. Very friendly owners. This is something special for city dwellers and lovers of nature and quiet.
If you are looking for soul refreshment, Wolvekraal Gasteplaas is just the place for you. The package includes everything. Hospitality, clean, tidy and fully equipped cottage (we stayed in Soetdoring). The Black Mountains and peaceful atmosphere are truly something to appreciate! Feel free to buy extra lamb chops and sausage to take with you, it's delicious! The Karoo was very dry and brings a renewed appreciation for grace, rain and the great universe. We will definitely stay here again.
Die hele ervaring was amazing, die ontvangs hartlik, die plek is netjies, skoon en het alles wat benodig word. Die omgewing is 'n belewenis en rus vir die gemoed. Julle sien vir ons weer! Baie dankie Berlinda!
Lovely stay. Enjoyed the tranquillity. Accommodation neat and clean. Excellent. I could live there permanently. Will definitely visit again.
It was truly a Karoo experience. The hostess was very friendly and immediately made you feel welcome and at home. Vygiebos cottage is nice and quiet, away from everything and surrounded by beautiful Karoo scenery. It is well equipped with everything needed. I would like to stay there again soon!
The people are so friendly and hospitable. We enjoyed the beautiful view of the mountains on the farms. The house we stayed in was beautiful. We relaxed nicely. A real Karoo experience!
Was lovely. Thank you for hospitality.
Relax in quiet and seclusion after exciting visits to Prince Albert and nearby activities. The cottage is well equipped and the surroundings are beautiful (even if it is now very - heartbreakingly - dry). If you love making a fire - delicious barbecue place outside, and fireplace that warms the whole house inside. Lots of photo opportunities.
We had a lovely stay. The cottage was very well equipped and very nice and clean. The service was excellent. We would recommend Wolwekraal if you are looking for tranquillity and scenery around you.
It was very nice to be able to stay in the Karoo on a farm with farm sounds (sheep blistering!) And the farm woman checked us in and invited us to go to the activities in town, and invited to help the puppies giving milk. It is always nice to meet the owner / manager ─ this makes the experience so much more personal and that is why our guest houses / farms / self-catering units prefer hotels. The cottage is beautiful and private without making you feel like you are alone on the farm, with everything you need and more. And there was enough storage space in the bathroom to put your bathroom bag down. We will definitely stay there again.
Although we didn't realize that the guest house was about 32 km from the main road, it had been a peaceful experience for us.
A beautiful base for Karoo photography. The little house offers lovely accommodation - the braai facilities are a bonus!
Very well equipped self catering unit. Very neat. Best barbecue place with lots of wood!
Very cozy and tidy house with privacy.
Place very easy to find and was very warmly welcomed. The accommodation was clean and tidy and had everything there to enjoy the stay. The farm is close to most of the area's attractions.
It was an oasis of quietness and simpleness. The house was neat and well equipped with the necessary. Boma was great as well as the fireplace in the house. Bike route was marked well and a great experience in the Karoo. Highly recommended.
The house is neat, but here you should only stay if you want to experience the natural beauty of the Karoo and wat to find yourself again. The stillness and the stars was really special for us.
Clean, tidy, beautiful with everything you need.
A wonderful break away from the city and town noise. Very neat and clean. Lots of walking and cycling opportunities. Yet also close enough to Prince Albert to explore the town and surroundings.
The peace and quiet was so nice. Berlinda spoiled us with her hospitality with mutton and barbecue sandwiches. The view of the Black Mountains is incredible.
Very peaceful and beautiful.Friendly service and delicious lamb chops. Wish I had bought more!
Unfortunately we didn't arrive until dark. Comfortable beds, nice decor, nice braai lapa. Would love to have more time to walk the farm. Maybe next time.
After a two-day visit to this area with Wolvekraal as a base, we take the liberty of recommending and enjoying the accommodation. It is nice and private and creates a tranquility that will not be easily forgotten. We were always made to feel at home. Thank you very much for that.
The farm atmosphere and boma where we could barbecue in the evening and hang out around the fire was excellent! Mosquito nets plus to get a good night's sleep! The swimming pool excellent idea for cooling down on the hot days! If we may suggest something, 3 bricks are extra with the boma, to be able to use more than one grill at the same time. The stay was peaceful, relaxing and very pleasant. Lovely visit with André and Belinda as a bonus! We would love to come again!
Thanks, Belinda, that we could cool down in the dam. Next time we'll stay here in winter.
It was just nice to long for the silence and tranquility again.
The place Vygiebos where we stayed was very private. The covered parking for our vehicle is a big plus. This was the best shower in our 12 day tour. The owner is very helpful and knows the area very well with good information. The braai area is equipped with everything, you just bring your food and drink. We will stay here again.
We had a very nice stay and it was pleasant to stay there.
Wonderfully relaxing - just be aware that the Karoo is very hot in the summer - there is no air conditioning, only fans. Plan your visit in autumn or even winter, there is a lovely fireplace.
Wolvekraal is just a few kilometers outside of Prince Albert. So we could attend the Reading Festival with all the hustle and bustle and enjoy Prince Albert's coffee shops, but enjoy the silence on Wolvekraal in the evening and morning. The real Karoo thunderstorm was a bonus. The well-equipped house and the fine eye for detail (from the barbecue area with everything you need to the right coffee) make Wolvekraal an unforgettable experience. The space (ideal for walkers, joggers or cyclists), the farm experience (letting lambs drink) and above all the silence and privacy, make Wolvekraal a real resting place. André and Berlinda have created a piece of Karoo paradise here!
We enjoyed every moment. You simply have to try Berlinda's lamb chops and braai sandwiches!
The Karooplaas atmosphere is highlighted very nicely. The rooms are very neat, clean and cozy. The people absolutely carry you on their hands. Can't ask for better.
Outstanding host lady - 10 out of 10!
Thanks so much for this beautiful little place. Exceeded our expectations. Very neat and beautiful. Friendly reception and we had a great stay, 2 nights. My husband loved the lapa with the nice braai!
Beautiful, neat, value for money. Very friendly owners. Helpful.
Lovely accommodation and facilities with genuine Karoo character. Braai lapas with lots of wood means long, cozy evenings around the fire. Friendly hostess with enough distance to make it feel like one's own place. We'll be back, thank you.
Was very impressed with the cottage, and the decor is fantastic. The setting with the mountains in the background was incredibly beautiful.
We enjoyed the stay on the farm. It is close enough to Prince Albert to drive in and get something to eat and far enough to feel isolated and see the endless stars. The house is very unique and well-kept. The sheep who walked around our house in the mornings were special. Berlinda made my mom's birthday very special. Wish we could stay longer. Must go back.
Excellent information, decor beautiful. The tranquility of the Karoo at its best, a friendly welcome. Close enough to Prince Albert, organize something to experience with family.
Had a wonderful time on the farm.
Good place for school holidays and farm feeling.
We really enjoyed it! Perfect getaway to experience the Karoo in its purest form with a lamb chop as an added bonus! I'm making a reservation for next year!
Owners were extremely friendly and helpful.
Wolvekloof is a beautiful farm and the whole experience from arrival to departure was friendly and professional. The cottage was beautifully decorated and exceeded our expectations.
Wolvekraal is now definitely one of my favourite places in the country! From the time you set foot on the farm, there is just a calmness that descends on you. Everything is neat and the unit is so well equipped, you really wouldn't need anything more. I recommend you eat braai chops and braaibread every night - it's the best. I would go again anytime!
The reception was friendly and helpful. The cottage was clean with an interesting decor. It was well-equipped with everything that’s needed. Bedding was clean and off high standard and beds comfortable. The view from the cottage on the Swartberg mountains and the surrounding Karoo veld was a wonderful experience. The quietness and darkness of the night with the brightness of the stars and milky way was amazing. We even saw a couple of satellites while braaing. We without doubt recommend this place and will certainly return.
I will definitely stay there again. The environment is stunning, the accommodation excellent and neat and the hosting couple are so friendly and helpful. Definitely a place I would recommend.
I would recommend it to anyone. It was really very nice.
Thank you for the hospitable reception. The room is beautiful and the fact that there is no kitchen did not detract from our stay. The barbecue fire that had been packed and the private gathering place around the fire made it very special.
The accommodation is comfortable and very tidy. We really enjoyed our time away from the city. The farmer and his wife are wonderful people and very helpful. Will visit again anytime. I would suggest it to anyone to go and stay there.
Will definitely want to stay again. Bitterly beautiful and close to Prince Albert. Good service and worth it.
Very nice house, decorations and nice bedding. Nice roast mutton and looking at the bright stars.
We will definitely stay there again.
Andre and Berlinda have a passion for what they do. Peaceful farm atmosphere. Delicious breakfast on the porch. Would go again anytime. Recommended for anyone looking for good, clean overnight facilities in the Prince Albert area.
We were received very kindly and hospitably by Andre and Berlinda. Everything was very nice clean and tidy. We will visit there again anytime.
Definitely value for money in a very nice setting. Very calm.
If you like wide open spaces and peaceful surrounding, Wolvekraal is a place to stay in the Karoo. Close to Prince Albert. Very convenient.
Excellent value for money. Neat, clean, fantastic bed and linen. Hot-water bottles, cosy blankets, and everything you need for self-catering. Fireplace heated the place nicely. We bought lamb chops from the host - best Karoo chops! Will definitely call again.
Part of an awesome road trip.
Most beautiful rooms, very well equipped. Made a nice fire and enjoyed the silence. I would love to stay there again.
Friendly reception. Well equipped for self-catering. Liked the creative decor in the unit a lot. Very quiet and peaceful.
We had a nice experience in a wonderful environment, and I recommend it if you want to escape the busy-paced life, even if it's its just for a night.
We were on a round trip of 5000 km and stayed in a lot of B&B's, guesthouses etc. but Wolvekraal was the best of them all. We chose to stay in Granaatbos. Nice big cottage with an inside fireplace which we used. Still water and milk in the fridge are some of the small things we enjoyed. Also wood for the fireplace and braai. Berlinda made us a delicious breakfast and is the perfect host. Thanks for the lovely time we had on your farm and for the wonderful hospitality.
It's beautiful, quiet and heavenly.
Lovely stay on this beautiful farm. The people received us so kindly and the surroundings are stunning. The braai area is nicely furnished and the nice big fire quickly dispelled the cold. From our front door we looked at the lovely Swartberge and it was simply very WOW. Despite the fact that it was very cold, we will go back here.
Because we grew up on farms we could appreciate Wolvekraal. The two little ones picked up pretty cute pebbles and Lindie actually harvested tree gum (resin) from the thorn trees and had a good time. Belinda was a good and very friendly hostess. The mosquito nets above the beds were a cute idea and will come in handy in the summer when there are of course lots of bugs coming behind the lights. Nice barbecue next to the house with comfortable chairs. The free wood the first night was very welcome.
I will definitely recommend Wolvekraal Guest Farm to everyone I know. It is such a beautiful place and Berlinda and her husband are absolutely fantastic. I will definitely visit again. It was incredibly fun!
So different and a wonderful experience to look out on the Swartberge. Cottage well appointed for those who do not rely on luxuries. Outside area very well equipped to make a fire and grill meat. The farm lends itself to nice walks! Recommend staying two nights.
See the stars.
We were looking for "quietness", away from the everyday noise and this was the perfect choice! A bit of dirt road that can only be tackled lightly, but don't feel like you can't go there unless you have a 4x4, it's worth washing that dust off later!
Very good accommodation option, modern accommodation, very tidy and friendly owners.
It was truly a pleasure to spend the night at Wolvekraal, would love to spend the night there again in the beautiful karoo! Hostess was accommodating after we arrived late. The mutton sausage we bought on the farm was excellent!
We had a wonderful stay and the attention to detail was impressive. The location is great and we will be back for a longer stay!
Stopover from the Western Cape to the Eastern Cape. Meiringspoort and the Swartberg Pass easily accessible to and from the farm. Individual attention and care. Delicious, dead quiet barbecue place under the starry sky in the Karoo. Berlinda has the most delicious mutton sausage you can buy, we just bought some stock for the rest of the way too! Will definitely stay there again.
I really enjoyed the Wolvekraal's guest accommodation. The rest was wonderful. No TV or radio.
It was lovely to rest in the evening after a busy road on the farm and forget about everything and just relax what a peaceful environment in the evening with the stars shining brightly over the Karoo's plain with ' a delicious breakfast that greets you the next morning and a village girl who is given the chance to milk lambs. It was really nice.
Please see the stars.
Wolvekraal is truly food for the soul. The accommodation is incredibly well furnished and full of fine details that make you feel at home. The environment is breathtaking. The cottages' lapas are simply fantastic. The view makes you feel small, and the silence and stars remind you that you are part of a bigger plan. Thanks, Berlinda! I'm coming again...
Wolvekraal is the perfect place for people who want to stay on a farm, but still want to be close enough to the town. Lovely, warm, friendly and helpful people on the farm who help wherever they can. Can highly recommend it!
The accommodation was clean and tidy. Would definitely recommend to other travelers.
Rest and silence that you can only find in the Karoo. We had a really nice sleep over. Everything was neat and clean. Our reception was friendly. You can probably only find peace and quiet in South Africa in the Karoo. No sirens, no alarms going off, just wonderful hissing silence and a starry night that leaves you in awe. Thank you Berlinda, we will stay there again if we are in the area. The road to Gamkaskloof is still on the bucket list.
Exactly what you expect from the Karoo. Was very sorry that I could not stay longer.
See the stars.
Many thanks Andre and Berlinda, for 2 wonderful days on your farm! Being able to give milk to the hanslammers was an unforgettable experience for our city lads. Beautiful, clean, creative place we stayed in!
Lovely people, peaceful and quiet landscape and nature.
It was absolutely perfect for us. Very neat inside and out. Clean Karoo night with the silence one would expect. It felt like we were alone on the farm.
No complaints. The place is definitely value for money and we had a wonderful rest. We enjoy bird watching and therefore it would be great if a drinking place for birds could be built in front of the departure - but that is just a suggestion.
Meticulous attention to detail! We found small things like the sticks with marshmallows that the children could fry noticeable. The well-sheltered braai spot was a pleasant place to visit with the Karoo night around you.
It is quiet yet close to Prince Albert. We stayed in clean rooms/cottage with good linen and all amenities were at hand. The farm breakfast was delicious and at a very reasonable rate. We would definitely book again and recommend it.
Wonderful to sleep in that audible silence.
We had a very nice weekend break here.
Plan to go back there and take more people.
Beautifully made with lots of love. Belinda is a wonderful hostess. Farm breakfast was delicious. Very special and pampered feeling.
We were pleasantly surprised with the beautiful, cool room in the summer heat of the Karoo. The environment is really special. The hospitality with which we were received was wonderful. Great stay!
Was great to just be in the silence. Berlinda went out of her way to make our stay as pleasant as possible.
Feeling like part of the family.
If you want to experience the breadth of the Karoo, Wolvekraal is one of the ideal places. The nature, the sheep, windmills and especially the hospitality of the people of Wolvekraal.
The cottage is everything and more you need for a typical Karoo experience. Tranquility at its best.
Our villagers wanted to experience a Karoo night and that's exactly what we got! The farm is beautifully situated for that. Amenities were up to standard and the hostess went out of her way to accommodate us. The breakfast the next morning was top notch and the atmosphere very cozy.

A very nice barbecue and meeting place, even if it rained a bit. Would we stay there again? Definitely. It was fun on the farm!
Berlinda (the hostess) is absolutely a star. The cottage, which is so beautifully and tastefully decorated and furnished, is truly the place to relax.
Eight kilos of Prince Albert, on a farm on the outskirts of the Karoo: it can only be the tranquility of oneself. Day trips to Merweville, Gamtoos Valley, the Swartberg Pass: tours of the majestic nature!
The fireplace is a bonus, a winning recipe for relaxation.
If you've always wanted the lonely house in the Karoo veld... You don't have to look any further! Wolvekraal is a winner!
The kindness and the trust were excellent. It is nice to meet such people, who are still human. The accommodation was breathtaking, tidy and everything in its place. Would definitely do it again and recommend. Thank you for being able to share something like this with us; what you have is really something unique. Thank you very much again.
We were pleasantly surprised by this beautiful place in the Karoo. Everything was perfect from the decor to the hospitality. Will definitely visit again!!!
Great reception, nice stay and everything well taken care of. Very nice hostess!

Since I grew up in Laingsburg it was again an experience for me to be able to experience the silence and openness, especially the sunset and the silence throughout the night.
The cottage is well equipped, and we appreciated that they helped make a plan for a fifth person in a 4-person cottage. All basic amenities are there. The access road is a bit of a challenge (can't turn around without a van or 4x4 once you're on the road); otherwise it was a very nice setting, with friendly, helpful owners.
I didn't feel well that evening and it was bitterly cold, so Berlinda brought soup and sandwiches; it was so unexpected, but so dear. She also put a heater on in the room beforehand and that was really very thoughtful.
It was soul food, stargazing, tranquility, silence and the beautiful open plains were fantastic

The cottage was very comfortable and well designed, as well as well equipped with catering equipment. The staff/hostess are very responsive and quick to help with any request we made, which was lovely. Our only criticism is that perhaps the reception could be more inclusive - it would be great if the hostess suggested some routes/other activities when we arrived. Similarly, it was extremely hot and, only when we asked, did she mention we could swim in one of the reservoirs. It would have been nice if she had suggested it in advance. Finally, two beds were not fitted with mosquito nets initially. Again, our hostess solved the problem immediately when we asked, but again perhaps this could have been in place upon arrival, as the mozzies were very numerous! The above are more points for improvement rather than complaints, as we really enjoyed our stay! The lapa area was very lovely and we enjoyed evening walks on the farm.
It was nice to be able to stay under the starry sky again in the Karoo with only the night sounds that are audible and deathly silence around you.
A quiet and beautiful Karoo place where you experience peace and quiet. A friendly, hospitable hostess who makes you feel very much at home. Everything was neat, beautiful and clean. Will definitely stay there again.
We had a great time and the silence was wonderful on the farm.
The hostess was amazing. I would really recommend Wolvekraal Guest House to anyone looking for something different. Thank you very much!
We were warmly welcomed ... until the chickens welcomed us. The cottage was beautiful with delicious cookies and rusks. A barbecue fire was ready and packed, and we could only light it. We really had a great time on the farm. Thank you very much!
We were pleasantly surprised with the place to stay. It was clean, tidy, with all amenities and equipment. It is also conveniently located close to Prince Albert. Good value for money and would recommend and use again. Also the Karoo hospitality overwhelming.
Nice place to rest and recharge. Hosts very friendly and helpful. Everything one needs.
