They can enjoy activities in the area such as the Circles in the Forest hiking trail, cycling through the forest such as the Homtini Route, swimming at Drup Kelders, have a picnic at Jubilee Creek or enjoy birdwatching where they may spot specials such as the Nerina Trogon and the Knysna Loerie. They can visit the Dalene Mathee Memorial at one of the Big Tree's in the Garden Route or they may take a tour to the historical Millwood Gold Mines.
Knysna, the quaint picturesque town with its sparkling lagoon is only 25 minutes away. So too are the beaches Buffelsbay and Sedgefield, the rivers and entire lake district with its water activities.
There 6 pets on the property. They are very friendly and sociable and will leave you alone if you ask them. Also we ask that guests should please not feed them.
Own transport is necessary, due to it being a rural area. Each cottage has parking facilities available.

The Woodcutters Forest Cottage is an amazing stay and I cannot recommend it enough. It is a gorgeous location that is impeccably maintained and has close access to plenty of activities - hiking, bike riding, and about 30 minutes from the Knysna lagoon. This place is also the perfect quiet get away for birders or someone who just loves quiet in nature. The woodcutters forest cottage was loved by all of my family and truly is magical!
We had an amazing experience staying in the Mellow Wood Cottage. It is beautifully decorated and situated in the middle of the most incredible garden, and next to indigenous forest. Highly recommended!
Host, Hannes, greated us on arrival and welcomed our four-legged friend, who easily befriended the resident dogs. We stayed at Mellow Wood Cottage, where we found the accommodation very tasteful. The beautiful gardens were a pleasure to experience. We especially enjoyed the attention to detail - a handcut bouquet of flowers wonderfully fragranced the cottage. We will surely be back!
We were delighted on arrival to find a tranquil and serene haven. The kitchen is beautifully equipped and the cottage wonderfully decorated. The extensive gardens are an absolute delight. Very welcoming and helpful hosts. Highly recommended, will definitely return.
